This is a damn shame America. Let me see if I got this correct. 1. Kid steals. 2. Kid gets placed in the back of a police car and taken home after stealing. 3. Some people are upset about the police doing this. 4. The Chief Resigns. This world is ass backwards. The kid is a thief, and he was lucky they took him home in the first place. 2nd the police did a great job, sometime a ride in the backseat as a child will save them a ride in the backseat as an adult. Last but not least if this was the only reason that the Chief of Police resigned, then he needs to get his job back. Well maybe not, maybe he doesn't want to be the Chief of Police when people act like this when his officers do a good job.

Why is an 8-year-old not in his parents' presence? We the police wrong? Yes. They removed a child without the parent's permission; however without the parents' involvement in ensuring the child's safety and obedience to the law, the police taught the child a valuable lesson. Black parents, watch your children, especially your boys. One more thing: If the police were really being nasty, they would have said that the child was hungry and placed the child in foster care. I live in CNY, where this occured. There's SO MUCH more than the clips being viral and slanted. They released the entirety of all cameras on the officers and streets for transparency. The child was never manhandled, nor cuffed. The kids are known troublemakers who are known to the police and even The Mayor, Ben Walsh. They are known because of the fact they play sports with the Mayor through a diversion league: PAL. The kids father is an immigrant with 4 sons, and a sick wife who's working through the day and night to make ends meet. He's at his wits end and limits. When the kids are brought home, there's a !20! minute exchange between the cops, boys, and father. The police tell them to stay straight, stay in school, and be good kids. Stop stealing and lying about it, then respect your elders and the SPD. We know who you are. SPD even asks the boys if he can check on them to see how they're doing, check in with the family, and then make sure everything is done with a straight arrow. They agreed. The father is about in tears. Ok, as to the parents: mother's very sick and unable to be a parent. The boys aren't being watched; hence, they run the N side of the City of Syracuse. The father ADMITTED to being overwhelmed by his kids, the situation, and he's trying to build a better life here. He asks SPD to HELP him get the support for the kids he needs. Yes, purportedly, the crying kid robbed a bike that next day. The City of Syracuse is trying to find a way to handle child poverty, crime, and constructive ways of keeping kids in school and off the streets. They're doing surveys to find solutions and are budgeting huge amounts to this. Go to syracuse.com; read up on it. As far as CoP Buckner goes, that's a whole 'nother storyline: He was planning on leaving the post and was being considered a finalists for a WA State post. He was already leaving. He said this as Walsh was elected to a 2nd term in January. He then quit immediately after the post withdrawal and he currently has no job (4/28/22). Unknown reason why, as of yet. At least it's not anything I am aware of. They gave CoP to Joe Cecile, who should have been there in the 1st place (37y on the job; about to retire. Admitted to the chance of a lifetime experience in a career of service). He's a stand up guy from a family of law enforcement. I know Joe. They're taking it very seriously. He's been transparent in the videos, story behind it, the problems, and then potentially ways to solve them. It just happened to be the day Buckner quit. That day, it was announced that there's a new boss in town, whom everyone has respect for. The media accounts are not wholly accurate and need to be fully told. If my sister's kids or us as the last 2 of the siblings were to steal, we'd get into so much trouble, you can't handle. My next door neighbor growing up was a cop. We were put into the back of a patrol 🚓 and then had doors locked. That's enough to scare young kids. But, that's a different place and time; parents were parents, not friends. They let us fail, fall, and falter. Depression era parents who didn't play. Walk straight home or hell hadn't enough fury.
@saganandroid41752 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. We need scary nuns out there beating bad kids. That kept everyone in my school in line. Nobody has been in trouble with the law in my entire class.

@robinbarber25422 жыл бұрын
Apparently this kid AND his brothers have been getting into trouble for awhile. One article I read quoted the father as saying "they leave the house while I'm still asleep, I don't know what they're doing." Sounds like it's time to nail the windows shut and deadbolt the doors with key-only locks. I also haven't seen any mention at all of the kid's mother...where is she and why isn't she helping keep track of her kids? Also, I don't know what time of day it was but it was a school day, was he skipping school when this happened? Eight year olds shouldn't be wandering the streets, especially with all the missing kids/human trafficking stories out there. If the parents can't keep track of their kids they should be in the custody of someone who will, either a relative or social services/foster home. There's no excuse for this.
@jodymcdougall64442 жыл бұрын

More information. He was a repeat offender, the police knew the family, was not mean to the youth in any way, and offered to help the family. The very next day, after the youth agreed to not steal anymore? Went out and stole a neighbor kids bicycle... and was immediately caught. Did he crave attention? No idea. I do not know this youth. I do know that those tears and screaming? It looked and sounded more like a youth screaming to be heard to call attention to the reaction to his actions. I don't know. More information is needed. We can speculate all day. The kid needs help, yes, the police want to help this family, this community. This could've gone so many ways that had a negative outcome, but it had the potential for positive change. This side of town needs places for kids to go, to give them something to do other than committing crimes when they're bored. I do not think the kid is a bad kid. I think he may need to have exposure to other options. Syracuse is limited on where to put purge options and that side of town is getting worse instead of better. Let's help these neighbors. Help this community. Not place blame. Find solutions.

All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, “I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” ~Jesus Matthew 19:14 "Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." ~Jesus John 8:7 "He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone." ~Jesus Matthew 7:1-2 “Do not judge, or you will be judged.
