Ok so I managed to form Turkestan today using this guide. A few notes: 1) Commie China really struggles against Shanxi. No panic. If you take over Commie China with the focus, just disband your faction and rejoin the Comintern. The Comintern Friends will use their score in the peacedeal to give cores to you then (otherwise they will liberate the original Communist China. 2) Rushing Menguko capitol is key. If you fail, like me, prepare for a slog through the mountains. Took me much longer, but having the comintern distract so many Japanese forces helps a lot. 3) I did not flip fascist but stayed communist. I fought Japan by using paratroopers and then attacked the soviets from the East. Got about 18% warscore, war ended in 1942, but thats more than enough for the Turkic terrritories. 4) Core of this guide is getting all of China through the power struggle and negating the Soviet Tribute - Genius!

I've white peaced japan and am getting ready for the soviet war. I'm struggling to get Yunnan and Guangxi. The border incident mechanic is a nightmare. It selected my weakest units to attack into dug in mountain tiles although I have 35 width artillery heavy units stationed there. It also switched to my weakest general ATK +1 instead of the assigned one ATK +6. Is there any way to game the border conflict in my favor? I don't want Yunnan and Guangxi to join the Allies before USSR is capped.

​@@ViktorEnns For the border conflicts make sure you only have the units you want to attack with in that state. Otherwise it will select any 6 units in that state to attack with. Sadly as far as I know the general is random

@@justinsanchez6255 that makes sense. Thank you. I capped USSR and took all of Asia from the Allies. Now baiting UK to come to Iran so I can sea lion easier. The allies are still outproducing me in planes and Germany isn't building AA in France so I currently have no chance of paradropping 🤷🏼‍♂️

That's only in southern Xinjiang. Northern Xinjiang has more mongols than Uyghurs. And there are more Ham Chinese in both than either minority

@@truedarklander That's what China wants you to think, who the hell is counting uyghurs that are not registered in re-education camps anyway? Uyghurs are not a minority, that's their home region, south shared with Chinese and north belonging to Turkic people. If you really care about mongol majority in the north, mongols are considered cousins to Turkic race, so there's no point trying to divide the two when they can peacefully coexist together unlike Chinese.

Don't knock the default extra research slot! It isn't necessarily *optimal*, but if you want to get research faster/don't mind a slower game, it can really help in the long run.

Hey, an observation I've made. The bug where you can't enter the war tab is caused by being in the war tab when the war ends. When you see you're about to win, exit out of it. That should prevent it.

I've never played as sinkaing before, but you can actually solo the three neighboring warlords (including sinkiang) as communist China. If you just pump out troops (by funneling resources into training and deploying at 10%) you can just walk around the troops of each of the nations as none of them have enough to fully protect their border as you get to them. No need to beat a single division! You probably already know this, but I felt I should say it as you only had 5 divisions when going to war with xibet san ma.

Fr im so unlucky XD 11 may and communist china havent took a single state of shanxi :x and i cant take on my own xibei AND shanxi like they are atm so yeah im good to restart i guess (but great video, it was a pleasure to watch)

I had something similar happen in one game where communist china would not push for some reason. But once i took over i rolled shanxi pretty quickly. At least it's fairly close to the beginning of the strat if you do have to restart

So you can't get 6 research slots if you take the 2 focuses first and then rush down to Yan'An? (curious, because, you know, more is more!). And I've been dying to play Sinkiang for... well, ages. I've tried it way back when, never worked out. Managed to Communist China-win everyone and currently nearly complete WC as Manchukuo-started Chinese Empire on going.

I find it weird that they all of a sudden finally corrected the Xinjiang flag, but it's still wrong. The old design was the correct design, just with inverted colours. Now they've got the wrong design but the right colours. Still no idea why they call it by the Romanized name either. I guess because most people aren't aware that "Xi" is pronounced "she". Weird Paradox decisions confuse me. Plus the seemingly arbitrary naming conventions. Some nations and ideologies using informal names for countries while others use formal names. It's so confusing lol

I would love to try this but I hate trying to push through China. 2 research slots, no trains, no support equipment, no artillery, no factories, it’s just miserable. I’m trying to get the unify China as mao achievement on and off and I just find it all awful. I’m sure there’s something that makes it easier that I’m unaware of but I’m only 600 ish hours or so of playtime.

Is it possible to use the left side focus instead of the center one? If you are communist, you will get the communist focus tree regardless.

Oh no, it has been nerfed. You cannot do that anymore, you will get nationalist focus instead. Also you have to fight Communist China

Hii, i started to masterise this path (wich i love in theory) but today i got a new problems (lol) wich i couldnt find a solutions... im in late 38 and i still couldnt do any chinese power struggle decisions ? I cant click on any regions and i dont know why ? Im above 300PP and china does do some power struggle but on my side they are unclickable :/ btw, sorry for my english im not fluent enough to clearly explain my problem x)

Your english is good enough don't worry 🙂 I'm not certain why if you have done the focus required, it would not be working. You could try reloading the save, otherwise I'm not certain. Maybe a restart could fix it.

This method sucks. The Power STruggle MEchanic might be the worst in hoi4 and is very rng based. Even without doing focuses, ive been doing it over 2 years and its still 56-20 for China

Sounds like you got very unlucky. It's possible to get screwed there, but it is unlikely. I'd say give it another go, but sounds like you are understandably pissed about it. Maybe try a different run, then give this another go once you're less angry from it

@@hatless_spider I can assure you, historically only the Long Yun from Yunnan is a decent guy irl. Yunnan is so weak in this game but he turned it into a democratic fortress, with the highest infrastructure (at that time) in all of China other warlords were either evil or nutjobs. Li Zongren of Guangxi Clique even banned music cause he thought music itself was evil.
