Very clear presentation, very cool project and a very neat reuse of the old CDJ hardware. You've got so much talent. This video is 6 years old so probably you've moved on but those perfboard processes look painful. With a small desktop PCB mill and kiCad + flatCAM you can quickly fab custom one-off boards for projects like this without constraint by perfboard designs.

I already own two CDJ1000mk3's, replaced some of the buttons, and had them serviced.. I just love them, I just wish they had USB and MIDI capability on them, I have traktor DVS system for VDJ8, and it's a disaster waiting to happen! I either need to mod my exisiting ones, or upgrade, which costs thousands..

Hey man! You do well! Is it real to modificate cdj 1000 making usb stick readable? Seems like nothing complications there just need to wiring 5 volts and making data read usb instead cd. Physically it is posible i sure. But i know there is a difference betwean file sistems usb and cd. What if use something like converter for file sistems? Have you any ideas for it? Thanks for advice if you do

Mk1,2 and 3 are all the same for these mods, but It does not work very well. The speed of the Pioneer jog wheel is very fast and it overloads midi and is not nice to use. This is why I have not updated this project recently.

not that easy and would add a lot of extra processing and latency. This would then add to the problem of keeping track of the jog wheel position so would just makes it worse to use. Also I have no way to get any track position data back from traktor or serato as well.

please checkmy later videos, I am working on boards that work in cdj 1000 mk1,2 and 3 and you can swap over. If I was to do this for you it would cost $100's for my time alone and is not very sturdy.
