After seeing your demo I am less enthralled. Initially, I thought that this would be the ultimate as I weight my grinds directly out of the chute of my grinder. It is painless process and it one way of getting consistent results. I actually enjoy the process of making espresso as much as the effects of drinking the product. I thought that the differences in the process would not be all that many compared to mine. Still it would definitely nice to have the money to find out if that is the case. Ceado is still on my wish list.

you sprayed the beans when they were in the dose cup and then use the same cup for taking the coffee that is grinding, wouldn’t that coffee get wet and then difficult and sticky to transfer to your portafilter?

No, I do it as well. The water is just barely enough to prevent static but the grinds are dry and fluffy. I feel like I use half what he did.

Loved the review. Is this espresso specific grinder for that fine grounds or can it give uniform particle size (EK43) level for pour overs like V60 or Kalita wave? I currently use Helor 101 handgrinder and in order for me to upgrade to the price tag of this, my must have is it should provide one of the best particle distribution for pour overs range since I don't have any espresso machine at home.

Hi, the grinder does have the option to switch to coarser grinds so it could be used for other methods.

Hi I have questions I have same grinder, and when I rotate for coarser the wheel move upon the right side around 1-2mm and when go to finer go down back.Did u have this problem?

Hi, thanks a lot for all your support! I know we have been back and forth regarding the SD model, and you have been of amazing help, but could I kindly ask you a last question? As I mentioned, I have the E37S model, I bought it around 2-3 weeks ago, the shop where I bought is letting me exchange it for the SD if I want to (paying the difference of course, which would be ok for me). My problem with the S is how much waste I have due to purge every time I have to dial in... and therefore my question: with the SD version, would I have to “purge” (waste coffee) every time I change the settings or dial in? Also, I know you mentioned the retention is very low in this model, but because I don’t drink coffee everyday, let’s say, for example, if I make a coffee today and I don’t use the grinder for about 2-3 days, the next time I want to make a coffee I would need to purge the first dose because there is old coffee lying around inside the chamber for the past 2 days? Or because the SD is so clean that i wouldn’t need to waste coffee in this case? The reason why I ask is that i want to avoid changing my E37S to the SD and at the end I would have similar coffee waste. I really look forward to your opinion and after that I will make my decision of I keep the S or if I exchange it to the SD, thank you again, Leo :)

The grind chamber should be clean enough not to require purging. That's the idea behind the bellows. I mean it's impossible to get it to absolute zero but with the bellows it is pretty close and should not negatively impact your next extraction

Hi Leonel Bego, I too have a new E37S and I am single dosing with it. It has 0.5 grams retention. So I can change the settings without a problem.

I do enjoy your videos! Very informative :) I have a question, do you think that this single dose can be also dialed for “pour over” (filter) coffees? Or it won’t go that coarse and is really meant only for espresso? Thank you very much.

Hi, it definitely can be used for pour over. That is why the e37sd has the unlocking worm gear. You can unlock it to make larger adjustments from fine to coarse and back.

But when I bought it I didn’t know this single dose version existed (E37SD), and I’m quite upset because I am more of a single dose person! I use it only for home and I like trying different beans, etc and with my E37S I waste soooo much coffee because of the purge I need to do whenever I change my grind size... so my question is: is there a way that I could use my E37S as single dose? If yes, how? This would be a life saver for me! Thank you again, Leo

Would you please be so kind in telling me if you think the SD does some “popcorning”?? I currently have the E37S but considering in changing for the single dose, but I really want to make sure this is the “perfect” single dose grinder! Do you see any inconsistency in the last coffee grams? (Finer or coarser?) I know the retention on this model is very good, but just wondering about the popcorn etc... I need a single dose grinder because I change beans all the time and I don’t want to waste so much due to purge! A million thanks

There will be some bouncing but I find that the feeding is fairly solid and the retention is very low. So even if you get.some popcorning it will still grind through. I find the grind consistency to be very good and my grinder is quite new, I have only ground 1 or 2 lb. As the burrs wear in the consistency typically improves

I have the E37S and I love it, but I hate always when I have to purge coffees while dialing in.... in your opinion this is a very good single doser? Mainly I don’t use the machine during the week, is more for the weekend and eventually 1-2 nights a week, maybe better to have this than the regular S? What would be your honest personal opinion? What's the rpm of the motor? For instance, with the top of the line Ceado E37-Z Hero you can dial in your preferred rpm of the grind. 600 rpm results in a better, richer espresso whereas 1500 rpm results in a brighter less preferred cup. Obviously the E37-Z Hero is more than twice as expensive as the E37SD but I wonder what your experience has been with rpm speed of the E37SD and how much it effects the quality of the espresso. This machine is over 3 years old so it has the very old titanium burrs that suffer from retention issues and bean clumping and having some beans never get ground up.

you are correct, it's just Ti coating. I image solid Titanium burrs would be quite costly.

No, it only includes the bellows and the way the throat is designed a hopper would not fit. It is designed to be used only for single dosing

I will definitely call you guys tomorrow. I am extremely pissed off, I have bought a "Return" version at -15% on your website and it got shipped in a weird no-name brown box with a lot of paper inside, then NOTHING else than the grinder with a useless manual. There is NO bellows, NO water bottle, NO chutte cover, NO cup or portafilter adapter... and there's even 2-3 letters behind the grinder that were stuck on the brown paper inside the shipping box, so it already has some "cosmetic damage". I don't know who's the clown at the returns that work but he should be fired right away! There's absolutely no way he did any testing or even just a 15 second check even if it is the most expensive grinder for sale, because it is completely UNUSABLE the way it got sent to me, so now I have a 3000$ paper weight on my counter, very happy customer. Hopefuly the after-sale service will be good because I'm definitely returning this thing...
