Shawn, it has been an absolute pleasure watching your vlogs from Cedar Point, I haven't even finished this one but wanted to say i have wanted to go there for years(im 44 so i am talking a long time ago) and Steel Vengeance is the coaster that finally got me looking at flights, but your 3 vlogs have been amazing. I've made my mind up i am going to get out there next year. The fact you have covered pretty much everything and not just the coasters is a superb advert for the park, The shows and all the other things like glass blowing etc adds to the whole experience. I really hope someone at Cedar Fair sees them. I'm very please you saved 2 days for you to enjoy the place off camera too. Definitely needed to be done.

Thank you so much for showcasing more than what Cedar Point is known, the Coasters. Don’t get me wrong, it’s for sure the best in the world for that alone... but the whole park is Rick with activity for everyone. You have proven you can spend 2-3 days there and not see it all! It’s a gem of a park and I take it’s close proximity for granted far to much. Glad you had a great visit!

Truly a place like no other! There is so much more to see an experience than you showed in you vlogs. Cedar Point Shores and the boardwalk as well as the beach and the historic hotel breakers and what it all has to offer. I’ve been going to the Point since 1972,and although I really do miss the old days,it’s been an amazing experience to evolve with the park over so many years. A great park with a such rich history. It truly is a very,very,special place like no other! Great Vlog!

Shawn... you truly did an OUTSTANDING job on these videos.... not to mention this third vlog and recap! Thanks again for bringing this video to us and allowing us all to see what a great, world-class place it truly is. Im once again happy for you, to be able to have such a great experience here in the states and at this awesome coaster park that you've so wanted to visit all your life. Lots of enthusiasm ; ) I have most of the shows on my channel for Summer and HalloWekeends current and past. There's shows I shot I don't have up including back stage at the Red Garter when I moved them from another channel. It's fun to do. And yeah most of them are very well done. They have their own Live E! production dept. The performers are primarily performance theater majors and musicians recruited from Universities. The lighting and sound techs as well. they also have their own costume dept. The HalloWeekends shows are very good. The guy who writes a lot of them used to work at Cedar Point. then in 2008 he left to form his own production company in FL but subcontracts to do some Cedar Point shows. And ones at other Cedar Fair parks. It is refreshing to see a roller coaster enthusiast take the time to enjoy and critique the shows.The lady who used to be the head usher in the Centennial/Jack Aldrich theatre (a school teacher who did it as a Summer job for a long time) used to let me tape the shows from the back as long as it was a Cedar Point production. Rock Band Live and Midnight Syndicate for example weren't. I'm surprised you didn't get the Fast Lane Plus for $90 to skip a lot of the lines. They give us one for free when we renew our Platinum Passes.

Cedar Point amusement park in my own personal opinion is absolutely awesome for a theme park. Some of the rides there (especially the rollercoasters) are massive. And they make Alton Towers rides in England look like children’s rides. And i thought The Smiler ride at Alton Towers was extreme. I absolutely love this park.

Awesome series of vlogs Shawn. I live in Cleveland, so Cedar Point is in my backyard, but I think I’d grown to take it for granted. Watching your vlogs and seeing your excitement and genuine emotional moments at times for the park has given me a new appreciation for how fortunate I am. I hope you do get to return to Ohio very soon, and I get to meet you in person (by the way I was there 2 of the 3 vlog days...Thursday and Saturday). If you do get to come back, you really should try to squeeze in trips to Kings Island and Holiday World. Howdy Shawn! I just spent 4 hours of a Sunday afternoon watching all your great CP videos. I, too, went last summer, and I, too, was lured into the experience by Steel Vengeance. Just like you, though, I found out (rather quickly) that while the rollercoasters are certainly the initial draw, there's SO MUCH MORE going on up there in little old Sandusky, OH than just scream machines. Having worked at Walt Disney World for 3 years, I approached CP with a critical eye, looking at the little details, the landscaping, maintenance, friendliness, and cleanliness of the place as compared to what I consider the "Gold Standard" of WDW. I gotta say, CP absolutely matches Disney in every category (albeit with less focus on themeing than WDW) but at a substantially lower price. And those savings were across the board, whether it be admission, merch, f&b, or the hotels. I heard you say you'd be staying at the Hotel Breakers (as I did last year and will be repeating this July 22-24, 2019) and THAT is a WISE MOVE, my friend. Again, from my WDW experience, I was looking VERY closely at the little things across the property-both in my room and the public spaces, and simply couldn't find ANYTHING to rate as less than 5 full stars. I'll be bringing a buddy of mine up from Arkansas this time, and hopefully we'll cross paths! One suggestion? Instead of telling everyone what your VLOG name is, how about printing it on a t-shirt (front or back, or both?) so folks just standing in line will see it (and possibly even watch while in the queue?) Otherwise, great job, M8! FYI-The CPFoodBlog just announced that CP's Dairy Queen now does their famous ice cream cakes with ALL the coaster logos (incl. a SICK Valravn, btw, in the pix in link below) available for the top of the treat. cpfoodblog.com/cedar-point-dairy-queen-exclusive-licensed-cakes/?fbclid=IwAR3GT1GAfIVV8VRuSiSExF1YcUT0lT9pQyh_ePeYinftONIQdqnES9EaH7M

Your vlog's are damn good, you showed me some bits I missed at Cedar Point went me and my cousin first went there ever last summer 2018. We did get on a lot of the flat rides there like Power Tower, WindSeeker, Skyhawk, and of course we did the two water rides back to back as well. In fact we did Snake River Falls once on each day, on our second day we hit Thunder Canyon right after SRF, and let me tell you, those four waterfalls near the end of the ride, Jesus. Our raft drifted to the left as we approached the two waterfalls on the left (and before we even got to that point on the ride, we were not very wet, only about 50% wet after SRF) but both of us got hammered directly on the head by two waterfalls back to back and we got 110% soaked. Not even a ride on Skyhawk afterwards was enough to dry us off, nor a ride on Maverick right after that! I'm glad you showed me some of the shows they have over there, they look fantastic! I'm just regretting that we didn't get to see one (but generally I'm not a show type of person, I came for the roller coasters.) :) So much familiar sights and sounds, we were in many of the shops that you went into, and I even saw several things in those shops that I bought, like that Cedar Point "Roller Coaster Capital of The World" t-shirt in the Point Plaza shop. Literally I spent like 20-25 minutes in that shop! I remember buying $85 worth of stuff from that shop on day 2! The food over there is very good too. We had lunch in the restaurant, I think it was called Lusty Lil's something or other, right next to the theater of the same name in Frontier Town, literally a stone's throw away from Steel Vengeance, well like a five minute walk. LOL. But if I can recall, I had beef brisket sandwich, mac and cheese, a biscuit, and something else. But it was far better tasting then food at my homepark, Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL. EVERYTHING at Cedar Point is FAR BETTER than my homepark. I just wished I lived closer than a five hour drive. But great vlog, I really liked seeing all the small details and so many familiar sights again from what is now my top favorite amusement park. Even the things we missed during our two days there last summer. Thanks!

It's awesome how Cedar Point respects ride history so well, come up with great (classic) flatrides and damn Shawn, I agree with you, that show is insanely good, especially by amusement park standards. I wouldn't call Cedar Point a genuine theme park, but with all the landscaping, crafts, diversity in rides, theming, quality of the shows, et cetera, it is probably the most complete amusement park out there. Wow what a park! I grew up going to Six Flags Magic Mountain and I thought it was great, but after watching your vlogs at Cedar Point I realize what a truly Great Park should be. I think you'd have to combine at least two parks in the Los Angeles area to equal something like a Cedar Point.
@ThemeParkWorldwide6 жыл бұрын
Magic Mountain is still a fantastic park for the coasters, but other than that it really lacks compared to Cedar Point
@fuzzytabby43046 жыл бұрын
I think Magic Mountain is going in the right direction though, this year they are installing a custom Zamperla Giant Discovery which is supposed to be the tallest pendulum ride in the world. And they are also upgrading the look of the surrounding area and re-theming it to a beach boardwalk theme. It's just wear the carnival games are near the entrance of tidal wave and the scrambler.

This is an area that's grossly neglected by most theme park KZbinrs is actually one of Cedar Point strongest areas. I've loved these CP vids so much Shawn! Great job. I'd love to see inside that Dragster wheelhouse some day and ask some questions. For example - how does the pneumatic launch stand up vs. more modern LSM systems, in terms of power, acceleration, price to operate, reliability etc. Also, I've always wondered with these kind of accelerator coasters with huge top hats, why don't they put a few powered drive wheels up on the very top to add a bit more power in case of rollbacks? Or would that not really work??
@visionist76 жыл бұрын
Some public events show you inside the motor room, when it isn't running. AC is on full blast in there when the ride is open, whatever the weather. Picture the heat in there... It's actually hydraulic, using accumulators and multiple pumps to drive the cable drum which launches the train. The accumulators are indeed charged pneumatically though I believe. The system works in reverse when charging. It's horrifically powerful (10000+ horsepower) and liberates that power much quicker than a magnetic launch. Butter smooth too. An LSM would need a much longer launch track (70mph seems to be the "normal" limit for magnetic launches: this does 120mph). It's cheaper on electricity also, as it doesn't draw large amperes at once. The advantages end there. It's extremely sensitive and highly strung. A blizzard of sensors monitors everything from inch-by-inch train position (originally they planned to run six trains conveyor belt style) in & out of the station, to alignment for the anti rollback magnetic fins. _One_ sensor goes out of whack and the whole ride shuts down. The engineers need to baby Dragster; it's Cedar Point's primadonna. Extremely flighty and unreliable, but the undisputed star of the show. Good idea about the kicker wheels. Not sure why there aren't any although I believe Kingda Ka has them to prevent a stuck train on top. Rollbacks are half the fun!

The launch is actually like a air craft carrier launch. Air craft carriers use air and Cedar Point uses hydraulic fruid. The actual workings are under ground below the ride. As are must of the ride workings.

Went on them rapids thinking the same as you, it will be fine. The waterfalls, I sadly got hit by the first and was quite wet but shrugged it off...then you go round the corner and although it was great everyone laughing got their share. I got a extra helping lol. Still I did feel cheated by it. I love a water ride with a journey and getting wet is fine as long as it was worth it. Just getting wet for getting wet is not fun. Beware the KI rapids too, great journey/ride but shoes on hands is a must. Great you covered the shows. Some great vlogs from CP, might have to push forward my next visit.

Felice Graziano by removing your socks placing them into your shoes. Then placing said shoes onto hands is great way for you to avoid getting them wet. Skin drys quickly, walking round a themepark for miles with soggy shoes all day is not a great idea. Hands very rarely get wet. Of course make sure you are restrained and safe.

17:57 min. I missed it the Fries and the fried Chicken...here we go there are now… lol ;-); 46:36 min OMG "Tiki Twirl" old Name "Calypso" is a very old Flatride. It was created in 1952 by R.H. Harris Company from Atlanta, Georgia. On mystery ways this ride idea came to Germany to Mack Rides Company, Waldkich. He started to build this ride. It was so succesful and spread all over the world. The ride in Cedar Point is built in 1970, is from Mack Rides Company and still running and loved.

I think shauns found his favourite theme park. Awsome vlogs dude its a shame we have hight restrictions on how tall we can have rides in the UK. We could do with banishing that law lol
@ThemeParkWorldwide6 жыл бұрын
It really is a fantastic park
@jaws16986 жыл бұрын
David Delano-oakes it's more an amusement park than a theme park. The best theme park would probably be Busch gardens Williamsburg which is actually themed to European countries funny enough. The other Busch gardens is themed off of Africa and has a lot of wild life.

Wait you have a hight restriction that bans giga coasters? No one is gonna fly 300 feet high lol what the hell would they do that?
@witchychlo6 жыл бұрын
it's mainly alton towers. since it's a natural heritage sight and a nature reserve, none of their coasters can exceed the tree limit or block the view of the centuries old buildings at certain angles. However they get around this by digging down, and making the coasters more terrain hugging, which leads to a more intense experience if you ask me, :)

I agree shawn pleasure beach and alton could do with more flats to support the coasters.

That Derby Ride has a lot of coaster history. Frederick Church, an early coaster pioneer, built it. He got his start in the coaster building a John Miller designed ride in Venice, California. His Giant Dipper in Santa Cruz, California, is the tenth oldest operating roller coaster in the world. I believe he had a few coasters built in the UK, but none survive. Finally, Blackpool's Derby Racer was built from Church's plans. To me, that is part of the fun of Cedar Point. The big coasters are great, but the obscure, little pieces of coaster trivia just add to the park's appeal.

Hershey's isn't the only chocolate company in the states. We have a ton of different ones. Hershy's is just the oldest and most famous.

By the looks of this park when you go here you realise how bad the parks are in the UK, we have nothing that even comes close to this place in the UK, Good videos by the way 👍

I love that he didn't talk much about the symbolic nature of Fort Sandusky. The Cedar Point Peninsula was an intergal part of the American Revolution and especially the War of 1812 with the battle of lake Erie.

Well... I bet it costs a lot of money to ENTER the park alone. Shawn has ALWAYS done budget flights. I think I am correct 😀
@ThemeParkWorldwide6 жыл бұрын
This did cost more than my usual trips as the flights were more expensive (around £350)

Have you been on Upswinget at liseberg? I think its location on the mountainside adds alot to the ride experience!
