Can you re-visit this deck with the new bans? I am having a hard time believing it can even compete in cEDH. Solely because it was already somewhat difficult getting him out even with Jeweled Lotus.

Great video shuana well spoken and well organized I’m thinking about building niv but my meta is so creature heavy Kraums, Najeelas, winotas korvolds Etc. I’m kind of considering sneaking in some extra sweepers Earthquake, anger of the gods etc. but wondering if that’s a trap Not sure yet, anyways… content was great thanks all

Also thoughts on not running buccaneer as a back up? Because of lack of tutors I’m guessing?
@LemorasCards2 жыл бұрын
@@johnweinhandl8890 she mentioned to me during the full interview she doesn't like running back up win conditions because they tend to be dead cards most of the time, and Niv and Twister more often than not gets there.

I can't speak with her level of experience, but if I was in your position I'd certainly try out some extra sweepers if there's that many creature decks. I think in general they're underplayed in the format.

Is there a certain mulligan rule cEDH uses or does it use what the other magic formats use? I thought you could no longer keep certain cards and shuffle others? Specifically referencing the example hands section.
@LemorasCards2 жыл бұрын
It uses the same rules as Commander, which is the London Mulligan rule but with the addition of 1 free mulligan aka a second seven.

Once you've drawn through most of your deck, you can either use time twister or a card like valakut awakening to restart.

I think it's really important to note the weaknesses a deck can have when deciding if you want to pilot it. It's not helpful to pretend this deck is just as powerful and versatile as the top contenders, but it offers a unique gameplan and a powerful late game engine that, if you look out for the things that can trip you up along the way, can take over pods even with those safer decks.

Put curiosity on nib game over

That's the basic gameplan, but sometimes that doesn't quite do it, and often it's getting there that's the hard part.

Great video, but this just made my mind on NEVER going into cEDH... it is more disgusting than the average Pioneer or Standard strategies... definitely cEDH is a pay to win...
@LemorasCards2 жыл бұрын
cEDH is extremely proxy friendly, you're very unlikely to find a pod where they won't allow you to use proxies. A common sentiment in the community is that they want to play against you, not your wallet.
@LemorasCards2 жыл бұрын
I personally at this point almost exclusively use proxies for my decks, they look way cooler and cost pennies.
@dearestdoppio85542 жыл бұрын
All cedh players are open to using proxies. We play against your skill, not your wallet. If someone claims to play cedh but is against proxies, that person is not a real cedh player.

Here in Brazil we have a format called Commander 500. The maximum price limit for the decks is 500 reais (approximately 90 dollars) with the price based on the largest online store in the country. This helps a lot to level the game.

@@lokumo13 It has about a 40% win rate at my LGS since I've built it in paper. Does damage dealt from Niv’s ability, and other commanders who deal non-combat damage through abilities, count as commander damage? Or is commander damage just combat damage based?
