As someone who got started into cEDH on this deck I can say from experience that this deck is actually very very budget friendly if you would like it to be. It also is an interesting intermediate level deck because it requires a lot of thinking about what type of tool boxing you are going to put into your deck.

I built a more complex, slightly less performant version of this combo on the cheap and it works fairly well, even in competitive groups. With the expensive cards removed, I slotted in even more elves, acceleration and I love how each card has 2 roles: help the combo AND interact/ramp. It's really all about slot efficiency and building a toolbox.

I’ve been playing this deck for years with the Heritage Druid/Nettle Sentinel/Phan Image combo and I’ve always thought the noncreature hack effects are awkward. Stick to beast whisperer, painter servant, and vizier. RIP paradox engine, but glad we still have intruder alarm! Great video, love the channel!

Masked vandal is a nice upgrade for rec sage, and I'd add glasspool mimic instead of phantasmal image. HEAR ME OUT: it's a land on the backside! That may come in handy! Personally I'd try to find a way to add biovsionary to this with augmenter pugilist//echoing equation, makes it feel like an exodia deck! Just my 2 cents!

@isaachaahr8691
@isaachaahr8691 5 жыл бұрын
The answer is fairly straightforward. Narset would be a proactive deck so play as many pieces of fast mana as possible a few ways of enabling haste and the rest is extra combat or extra turn spells.

Is Mikaeus the unhollowed a deck in the cEDH meta? How do u define that? Im used to the legacy meta, but cEDH seems scattered and I think that's bc not everyone is trying to win. Wyt?
@cedhtv
@cedhtv 5 жыл бұрын
So Mikaeus is not a valid commander in the cEDH meta. I made a video about what is making a commander valible. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYbQpX1ui7iAldk This video explains it quite well I think. So his problem is that he is mono-black with no card draw. You wanna have a lot of color identities and a good commander at the same time. 6 mana is bad. He is a combo piece but that isen't enough. He needs to be more. All cEDH players are different. Your opinion might be different than mine depending on what cEDH players you have played against. But we (or the ones I play with) are all focused on winning.

As a Hackball player, I have a question: why get rid of Nantuko Tracer?
@cedhtv
@cedhtv 5 жыл бұрын
WHen you have infinit mana it dosen't matter wheter you go with nuntuko tracer of eternal withness. If Momir vig gets killed all the time. I think it is better to get a card from grave back to hand compard to putting it back into the deck.

To be honest this seems less competitive that my semi-competitive Momir deck. I may be wrong, with my friends we're starting to get into cEDH, but still "casually". My Momir has three win cons: --Thassa's Oracle + Leveler Both are creatures, so I can fetch them (if possible during the opponent turns, with a flash creature like Frilled Mystic) and win spending 7 mana. Of course, it's risky, if Thassa's oracle get countered I'm screwed. --Experiment Kraj + Knacksaw Clique + Bloom Tender/Incubation Druid/Ilysian Carytid Needs Kraj able to tap and the others two pieces with a counter +1/+1 (pretty easy with Graft and other simic tricks). Kraj can now tap for two manas (at least one blue) and untap to exile a card from opponent library. It can goes infinite and because the untap is a cost, it doesn't go on the stack, so I virtually can not be stopped. Unfortunatly, it's a three pieces, cluncky and expensive combo, even with Momir as commander to fetch them and a lot of ramp this is a bit slow and predictable. Both the mana dork and Kraj can be usefull even when I'm not trying to combo up, tho. --Simic Ascendancy + Vorel of the Hull Clade/Hydra's Growth This became the first win con if I draw Simic Ascendency early on the game. With a creature with Graft or others simic counters-synergetic creatures (like Fathom Mage) it's pretty easy to reach those 20 counters. Unfortunately it triggers during upkeep, so even if the deck it's "control" and I often play most in opponents turns, this win-con is very obvious and easy (enchant remouval) to disrupt. Because all the pieces are low in mana cost and it can actually go by itself, I use it only if I draw into Simic Ascendancy. However in some games becamed a distraction for my opponents: they looked to the card with "win the game" and not to what I was serching with Momir. -- There's also Flash+Hulk, wich can be used to came out from nowhere "closing" a combo. Like If I got Thassa's Oracle I can spend just 3 blue manas and one of any colour to do the first combo. But I guess that's was obvious, like painter servant in Momir :D

As a momir vig player who has consistently played him your deck wouldnt stand a chance against any mana sink combos, or ezuri sage of wins
@ilianceroni
@ilianceroni 5 жыл бұрын
Steviei Vaughn-petelle yeah, it’s still “in development” and all the win con have a lot of draw backs. But you mean that Momir hackball works better against these strategy/archetypes? Or you think the commander is just not enough competitive per se?
