Omg. This guy was just something else. His death creates the largest void in political commentary and analysis.

@Lazzzyeye Yeah your spot on, the failed post planning of the war and postponed elections incurred a counter-insurgency which not only made the coalition look bad, but for some reason immoral. Hitchens has often stated his disappointment at both Bush and Blair choosing to scare their electorates rather than enlightment them (and he has now has to!)

So US for global policeman? Dangerous precedent. I can't get behind that. The world is too global, and our fate too collectively held for one country to be deciding how the world should be run. For our survival we need to be building multilateral consensus rather than enforcing unilateral dictates. That's where our hope lies. Hitchens got it wrong.
