My favourite episode of Doctor Who is the incredible "Hell's Sent" where JK Simmons's Doctor has to escape the terrible fate of his companion Clara (played of course by the wonderful Anne Hathaway) being forced into Doctor-like immortality and being given her own companion (an annoying character called Me played by Brie Larsen). The only way for the Doctor to escape this horrible alternate reality was to find a big wall on Gallifrey, punch through it, and find his way to a mysterious castle where he could teleport back home (although he had to recite the Brothers Grimm story Hans the Hedgehog to get through). Then everything returned to normal and Clara was able to have a more fitting end in the episode "Life in Hell". Thank goodness, because it would be terrible if Clara was given an ending like that

Of course, Season 12 also controversially confirmed the longstanding idea that the controversial flashes of pre-fame Steven Spielberg, George Lucus, John Williams, Rob Botin and John Carpenter, high-profile industry fans of the show Stanley Kubrick and Mel Brooks and random cameraman Andrew Fontes in the Gene Wilder story _The Brain of Nosferatu,_ were also incarnations of the Doctor, predating what had always been assumed to be the First Doctor.

Ah but you’re forgetting the incredible actors behind The Doctor’s greatest foe The Master. Of course the most famous of actors to portray the role was Ricardo Montalban who perfectly bounced off of Vincent Price so well that after he left the role for personal reasons Vincent decided to leave alongside him, after a couple failed attempts to bring The Master back with weird burned face prosthetics they finally found a suitable replacement with Kelsey Grammer who perfectly played the role and made it his own playing it from Gene Wilder’s era all the way to Wallace Shawn’s era even going as far as being in Shawn’s final episode, of course when they attempted to bring the series to the U.K. by Channel 4 (not ITV like you said it was) the higher ups decided they wanted a face that was recognisable for British audiences which is why we got Jeremy Irons less than stellar portrayal where he kept switching between his more dramatic and serious style of acting and his more over the top style of acting, and of course the costume didn’t help either. The character was put on hiatus until he was brought back as a surprise twist villain in the series 3 episode Utopia this time played very briefly by Christopher Plummer who gave a perfectly sinister performance, of course his role gave way to the amazing Matt Bomer who perfectly complimented Alan’s portrayal of The Doctor, then after years of waiting for him to return The Master was brought back much to the surprise of everybody in series 8 as a woman, Missy was brilliantly portrayed by Julianne Moore who was perfect for JK Simmons older and worn out portrayal of The Doctor and of course who could forget how last year they shocked us all when they brought The Master back again this time portrayed by Kumail Nanjianni who brought an extreme rage and aggression to the role that gave his master his own flavour and made him extremely scary at times
