It just happens that coco’s kitchen used to be my home back in the 60’s. My daughter is getting married in Guadalajara the end of this month, then heading to Vallarta. We’ll definitely be having breakfast at coco’s and lunch at La palapa 😊

Growing up and living in a border state, I’ve been to many dia de los muertos celebrations. My church choir used to go to Puerto Vallarta every summer for a missionary trip. It’s a beautiful city. I miss going.

Just discovered your channel while looking for videos to prepare for our PV trip! Question - Have you ever gotten sick from eating fresh fruit or food from the street vendors? I see a lot of travelers doing this and have been curious about it. Thanks so much! Happy belated, Randy!

Hi! I only eat from street vendors that have stationary food carts, electricity and a person dedicated to taking money and NOT touching the food. The "pop up" vendors I absolutely avoid. But I do eat from the vendors at the Olas Altas farmers market on Saturdays. I've never gotten sick from eating anything in PV....but my husband has (he ate scallops at a restaurant).

You're so welcome! And as a rule of thumb....I only drink bottled water when in PV. At a restaurant, the ice is safe if it has a hole in it. That means it came from the ice factory and is filtered. My husband and I are your ages. I remember when you used to do keto. And I know it’s a birthday so you’re eating fun stuff. Have you just decided to eat whatever you want now? You show eating a lot of carbs at home and now on vacation. I would gain three pounds from the birthday meals you showed! I never ate keto. I did eat low carb to slim down....but now my weight stays steady. When on vacation, I eat what I want. I live my life and enjoy every moment. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed and a few high carb meals and an extra pound or two is certainly worth it to me.
