Celebration 2024 | Day 2

Watch our live stream of Celebration 2024, a major dance-and-culture festival organized by Sealaska Heritage Institute every two years. First held in 1982, Celebration has become the one of the largest events in the state, drawing thousands of people and millions of dollars to Juneau. It’s a time when Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian people come together to celebrate their cultural survival and to share their cultures with the public. The Celebration 2024 art was designed by Tlingit artist G̱at X̱wéech (Nick Alan Foote), who won with his piece “Sacred Embrace,” which was inspired by the 2024 theme, “Together We Live in Balance.”

Was So Awesome to See The Noon Tlein Dancers from Sitka Honor Ethel Makinnen, She was a Great, Wonderful teacher of Tlingit, Native Dance & Language, I myself & Sister Jackie ,were Gaa-jaa- heen Dancer 5/1980- 04/1982, The availability to Learn Tlingit Songs, Language, Dance Performance Was The Most Favorite Thing When I lived in Sitka, AK We loved Isabelle Brady as well, I performed with Martin& Martina Strand, Laura Joseph, Roberta James , Ethel Williams, Brian James, & Lillian Young,. It was a Blessing to Learn at ANB hall. :)
