It happened here in florida. I lost my home 3 years ago because the landlord tripled my rent. Was in that place for almost 20 years. Now I'm in a 1996 Jeep Cherokee with a leaky roof. No help terminally ill with bone disease. In my 60s it's disgusting

Its not the first time California has allowed fires to get residents off the land they have plans for. SoCal's canyon fires got rid of everyone living there. The state implemented new regulations and permits were impossible to get so people couldn't afford to rebuild. People who had lived in the canyons for decades lost everything and found themselves homeless. They were mostly elderly retirees. What is Newsom LA 2.0 plan and who will he allow to rebuild?

1st off. Realtors are 100% apart of the problem. The NAR needs to be dissolved and realtors need to have commissions gutted. There will be a thinning of the atmosphere which will make the sky around there hotter and drier due to the lack of trees. It's best not to just focus on extinguishing the fire without thinking long afterward. And also the wind will continue to blow hard because thousands of hectares of trees that previously resisted the wind have been burned..

Realistically it'd be 10 years if you are lucky because every dog and cat is trying to do the same thing in the same area at the same time. You are talking about rebuilding an entire city if not cities in mass scale and we are not talking about $500k condos here. And many people simply do not have that kind of luxury in time due to their age/career/education/etc. People are faced with to keep the property for long time until price of their property is at or near market value, short sell it and move on, or rebuild on the same spot. None of these pills are attractive obviously. And that 10 year will take 20 year worth of toll on you. And the worst of it is right now, the world is promising you the moon and all kinds of support. Give it a few months if not weeks, they will not spare a paragraph on your situation on any media.

We welcome everyone to come to Pacific Bakersfield only 1 hour and 45 minutes from Altadena, $300.000 will buy you a nice home, Only 1 hour and 30 minutes from Hollywood BLVD and we have no danger of floods, tsunamis, fires, earthquakes, congested traffic, high winds, high gasoline prices, we have 2 Costco's, 6 super Wal-Mart's, 20 new car dealerships, 2 bedroom apartment rentals are average $1.300 a month, and hot days are only 2 months out of the year, and we don't drink recycled sewer water as L.A County Citizens do, we get our fresh clean water from the mountains at an average monthly cost of $25.00. And that is just a few to mention positive reasons to live here. I moved here from Santa Monica 30 years ago and I will not go back. Bakersfield has always been known as a "ALL AMERICAN CITY" and a "NO STRESS CITY". And for those people that prefer bigger mansions, we also have the million dollar homes, that are even nicer than the L.A area 5 million dollar homes.
