New to Celeste (not completely blind though), playing casually. Just finished my first Pico-8 attempt thanks to the final room skip through the spikes you did. I haven't even finished the hotel level as I stumbled upon this and wanted to complete it before moving on. My final score was 1:01:19 with 11 strawberries and 704 deaths. Platformers really kick my butt due to my low reaction speed. I have to know exactly what I will be doing, and even then I still scramble to input the correct directions. Thank you for showing off some excellent skills for me to imitate!

Just 1 missed, probably one of the hidden ones. That's an amazing 17 berry first try time. My first 17 berry (I knew where they all were but screwed up one of the screens, don't remember which) was like 1:10 with over 1000 deaths. Classicleste and newleste are both really great games.

Jump left to wall, jump right to air, jump left + dash up to wall, jump right, and very very quick jump right again + up to get upon the spikes and end up grabbed in the last right wall. Jump one last time for next level. The last 2 movements are the key to all. The more you think, the worst it gets, think about the concept of being in the zone

Spikes that are facing left have a different hitbox than spikes that are facing right so you can get into them and not die if you have the right placement. My first attempt took 0:52:24, I spent 590 deaths and collected 15/18 strawberries. The sad thing is that at level 28 I took the key and then immediately went to level 29, missing the strawberry. The rest apparently didn’t take some secret ones. I passed as soon as I found Pico-8 at stage 3. So it was really difficult. My arms hurt as if I had completed an entire stage and not just a mini-game.

26 is a hard one, but you can do it! If you aren't having any fun though you might just want to stop. It can go from challenging to frustrating pretty quick.

For 100% unless you're trying for a WR just dash right, then up+right, then up and land on that little platform then jump back down for the key and then dash back up to it. This strat is dumb and one of the top 3 killers of runs. For any% just do the same thing, but don't drop down for the key.

You can get into spikes in certain circumstances and not die. Justin does a better job of explaining it than I do in his guide if you want a better answer. whocouldthat.be/celeste-tutorial/ He explains spike jumps in the appendix near the bottom. Keys you can't jump off, so it probably just looks like I am, but I'm not. All of these things are present in the new celeste's pico 8, that's a re-write, but it was re-written to be exactly the same. The only difference we've found is that the flying berry is missing a frame of animation, but that's an unintentional change.

So for the 2300 level, if you get the strawberry and than die before making it to the next room do you need to reset back to 100? Because I do 22 rooms just to have one chance at room 23 is seems unless im missing something.

If you get a strawberry you keep the strawberry even if you die. It's only the key you lose when you die. If you miss a flying one because it goes off the top of the screen you can just take a death and it will respawn. For 23 without the berry you can just jump left, walljump on the wall, dash up+left, walljump again and then dash up+right.

Right but for 2300 it seems like you need the strawberry because it resets your jump, and thats how you get to the next room. And I keep getting it and then dying so it doesnt respawn so then im trapped in the 23 room.

Haha, dang. The only real reset point is if you screw up on 14 and go off the top of the screen and miss the top left berry, but that only applies to 100%. Everything else you should be able to salvage without resetting.

I solved 2600m guys, an easier method firstly don't take the key and go over that 1x1 rock, then go pack for the key. By the way I made this but accidently dashed twice at the end like a dumbass. so I couldn't get the strawberry.

If you hold right+dash while the stage number is up on screen you buffer the dash which allows you to dash on the first possible frame of control (used on most of the screens in the game) and also lets you keep the dash from dashing off the crumble block instead of putting you to red hair. So it's more like a ground dash followed by two air dashes.
