Yeah tbh it sounds like Grayfruit didn’t quite appreciate what the story was doing, which is cool but it is kind of a shame. Madeline’s journey is very personal and at times gets a bit metaphorical, if you can relate to her then you’re going to appreciate that but I can see how the narrative might fly over the heads of people who don’t relate to her struggles. Personally the story really resonated with me the first playthrough (before I even realised I had anxiety like Madeline!) and remains one of my favourite stories in a video game. But Grayfruit also said he didn’t like the A side music that much so idk, I got no explanation for that one lol

I actually really liked the story! (not here to be a contrarian, just want to share my views) I feel like its a really good way to represent Anxiety and the inescapable feeling it brings. I think it handled the topic of accepting the worse parts of yourself really well. And i still use the feather coping mechanism to this day! thanks for covering my favourite game of all time fruit.
