What I adore about this song is the way the instrumentation plays into the idea of an approaching storm: Piano in the beginning like gentle raindrops in the beginning. The drums picking up as the storm intensifies. The crashing symbols and "wooshing" vocals like heavy rain, wind, and waves crashing against the rocks. And then, we return as the storm passes, to gentle rain once more. Masterclass instrumental writing.

Lyrics: I finally get what you've been saying Now that we're knee deep side by side The storm clouds are circling above us As we struggle against the tide I feel your grip firm on my shoulder But this fear in my head won't subside They patiently circle around us As we hold out Oh father, why have they forsaken me? You warned me that they would Because it's passing down the bloodline It's spoken and misunderstood We're losing light And strength of will The darkened depths beckoning still Then we hold on against the tide "Another storm you're left to fight alone Remember son, you're reaping what you've sown Under the waves and sinking like a stone I'm sorry son, you're reaping what you've sown" "Another storm you're left to fight alone Remember son, you're reaping what you've sown Under the waves and sinking like a stone I'm sorry son, you're reaping what you've sown" You're reaping what you've sown We're slowly losing ground And hope is harder to maintain We know the prayers we prayed Feel lost like tears in the rain The water is pulling down The Moon's eclipsing the sun The ending that we knew would come Has finally begun It's finally begun You're reaping what you've sown You're reaping what you've sown This sorrow weighs down on my shoulders This fear is getting harder to hide You'll leave me alone in this darkness Left to hold out Against the tide

+YOU'RE UNDER ARREST Hey I hate to be that guy, but you got several of the lyrics wrong. Here are some of the major ones: "BENEATH the storm AND left to fight alone" "WITH CURSES passing down the bloodline, UNSPOKEN and misunderstood." "WHEN ALL the prayers we've prayed" "THE MOON's eclipsing the sun." Those are the lyrics from the disc insert of the Wish Upon A Blackstar album.

With or without the lyrics, this is by far one of the best pieces of music I've heard. There's so little music with this depth of emotion, with the ability to pick you up and transform what you're feeling into something that resonates through to the core. I originally found this looking for epic music (Audiomachine, TSFH, etc). In its own way, this fits the genre better than nearly everything else I've heard in it. Nothing can match it. I really wish he had more songs like this, but honestly, I think it's impossible to top.

+Ulti Already have, nothing tops this for me. Not just talking intensity, but how well layered and woven this piece is. How it progresses, its peaks and drops melding without dissonance. There is nothing in it that doesn't fit, and in my eyes, nothing that could be done to improve it. How often do we find a piece of music that is literally perfect in what it conveys?

+Wolfguarde I think lyrically, tonally, and instrumentally it is the best piece of music *ever* created. I have found no other piece of music that comes close to the depth and complexity of this song. Lyrically diverse and nothing in the song overstays it's welcome and is devoid of repetition. The instruments and vocals ebb and flow like a beautiful carefully woven tapestry full of raw emotion and power. Expertly crafted. When you add that the song in it's entirety is completely done by *one* person it becomes even more impressive. Written, produced, mixed, sung, and played by Klayton himself. Incredible. I don't find every song he has ever released up to the standard of this song, but I honesty consider Celldweller/Klayton to be the most talented artist in the entirety of the music industry. He is in a league of his own. The fact that he is relatively unknown is beyond criminal. Most of his music is better than any song that plays on radio stations or racks up the most views on KZbin.

Ever since I've listened to this song 2 years ago. That moment I knew the way I feel about music changed forever, whenever I listen to any other song from any other type of genre just doesn't give me remotely the same feeling I get when I hear this. It's indescribable, it is perfection in my eyes. This should be what every other artist in the world tries to match in terms of production, emotion and the feeling you get from it. It's just a shame many people in this world don't give stuff like this a go nor do they care about anything that doesn't suit themselves. This is my favorite Celldweller song of all time (at this current point in time with Just Like You/Lost In Time right behind.) At the same time, favorite song of all time, I've listened to many many different artists and this hands down is unparalleled in comparison to those I've heard. Never change Klayton, the world might not care about you but who cares about them.

+Matt Ashworth the only guy that is on par with Klayton(Celldweller is still always going to be my favourite music artist nothing can and nothing will beat him) is Thomas Bergerson he's like a fusion of Motsart, Packapbel and Bheetoven and timesed it by Ten Thousand Quateruodicillion. but Scott Albert will always be the number one and i don't care if he has very little circurlation with his music because i like it this way he is the GOD of Music from another dimention that talks with Music enhanced by the Godly powers of Klayton. Klayton is so awesome and he has few bad songs but his albums are just so good.

There is power in music. It's different for everyone. Sometimes a song's potency will last for a day, or a week, or a month. Less common are the songs that last for years, and they often take on personal meaning for the listener. But there are songs that will last a lifetime, that resonate with the core of the individual hearing them. For me, this is one such. They are rare, and they are precious.
