The most OVERLOOKED aspect of this game, was in the first minute of play. It WAS NOT Tatum getting injured, but a couple of seconds before that, where Al Horford gets the ball in the paint, with an undersized Martin in front of him (and a trailing Vincent behind) on him, and instead of powering over him for an easy shot....he passed it up to the corner where Tatum is. That foreshadowed what the team was going to do the rest of the way. THAT is why this team did not win, and will not win, until something in their belief system changes. That starts with the players, not the coaching. Coaching can set you up to succeed, but what's between your ears is what determines the manifestation of those plans. This team had the same inconsistencies with Udoka. The only CONSTANT have been the players, not the coaches. A good coach will help for sure, but the players are the reason that this team under performs, when they do. This team needs some sort of leadership on the court when things get decisive, where the mind may shift from "Playing to win" to "Playing not to lose". In my opinion, this team hasn't had that since IT4 left. - A Celtics fan
@josephtoombs305 Жыл бұрын
Well said, sir. Heat fan😊

Congrats, you just explained inconsistencies. Every team has it. What the Celtics can do now is to revamp the roster and experiment. Tatum and Brown are just 25-26yo. They have plenty of time to win a ring. That's assuming they'll stay tho.

There was a time, through the 1984 season, when the Celtics were a virtual guarantee to win a Playoff Series, the ECF or the Finals. In addition to that, they were a dead certain lock to win any Game 7 in any Playoff Series at home. However, those glory days are long gone. Boston has won 1 Chip, 1987-2023. The Celtic's mystique ended, even before Larry Bird retired. 16 of their 17 Chips were won from 1957-1986. The Celtics, obviously, have been one of the best teams in the NBA the last 2 seasons and they had a nice run 2008-2010, winning 1 Chip but the real Glory Days of the franchise ended decades ago. It's not surprising anymore when Boston comes up short.
