You should try using a luxator in these situations. Very thin edge that usually lets you wedge the instrument between the root and bone. Very effective instrument for atraumatic extractions. saves a lot of time if used correctly

Thanks for the tip! I was in a 2 year oral surgery fellowship at Baylor Dental School following dental school and I believe extracting brittle teeth is a challenge for an dentist. Dr, you're like an inexhaustible well of knowledge and experience. Very glad to have found this channel, it's very helpful and very practical, even though I'm just a dental student with a painfully scarce clinical experience (like 3 RTCs and around 10 extractions lol).

You have to start somewhere. Glad the videos are helpful. I suggest watching all the videos in the library of DMC.com, beginning with "Fundamentals of Occlusion," "Fundamentals of Aesthetics" and the "New Patient Exam and Consultation." Watch the videos over and over. You never master anything the first time you are exposed to a method. Take your practice to the Top Tier. Great vedios sir...really appreciate your effort...your knowledge... Hats off... But as a great admirer I must express my other thoughts also.... Cud Extraction be done less traumaticn using .peritome or flap reflection for better forcep. And I see lot of instruments on patient body... Some trolly or try wud be better ..

You are mistaken. We place a plastic tray under the patient's chin with a sterile towel over the tray and place the instruments in the tray. The patient also has a large, thick L.L. Bean blanket with a washed cover and a plastic drape covering them, so there is no "body" exposed." The plastic tray under the chin is so we do not have to keep reaching behind the patient for instruments. My surgical intent is to preserve all or most of the facial and lingual bone to contain the graft. You may have a different method, but this one is effective, although extracting brittle teeth is always difficult. Take your practice to the Top Tier.
