Central Asians Celebrate Eid In Russia Amid Tight Security After Moscow Terror Attack

Despite heightened security measures following the Moscow terror attack on Crocus City Hall, thousands of Central Asian migrants attended Eid al-Fitr prayers in Moscow on April 10. Police and volunteers monitored Muslim worshippers at prayers after earlier warnings of potential terrorist threats. The three-day celebration marks the end of dawn-to-dusk fasting during the month of Ramadan.

Why should people be arrested. They were peacefully practising their religion. If they are people of faith, what is the problem? Others may have corrupted that faith, but that is on them, not those who prayed today. I distrust religion as some put it before their faith. The performance and apparatus more important to them than the word. I wish all of those there today a peaceful and productive future.
