I may have been hasty on my wording on dismissal, but I do believe I read on Blabbermouth that she was going to pull double duty with both bands, but that the guys in The agonist decided on not having her back (her words), so that's why I assumed she was dismissed. She was dismissed. She wanted to stay in the band. The rest of the band said they didn't want her to do double duty and dismissed her. This is the best song I've heard from the Agonist since Prisoners. Almost makes me want to go check out the rest of the album. But having heard the other videos they've put out since Alissa left says I shouldn't waste my time. Everything else I've heard is generic and watered down. This reminds me of their first 3 albums.

It's funny how some people can't just love both vocalists. They have to talk shit about one because they prefer the other. I personally think Alissa is better, but I love Vicky too. It's just I hope the next album, they step their game up. There was quite a few good songs, but there was only like 3 truly great songs. The reviews for this album weren't that good either. I think with the vocalist change it took some time to get the chemistry down. There was some songs that sounded too similar and others that were generic and not dynamic. The flow and tone was just off on this album. The next album will be an improvement for sure. I hope there are more songs like Gates Of Horn And Ivory, now that was one just fantastic song.

I'm not mad at Alissa for leaving for Arch Enemy, I think she fits them well. That said, I think The Agonist actually benefitted by her departure because Vicky can certainly fill Alissa's shoes there. I think there are awesome qualities of both vocalists, but I lean towards Vicky in The Agonist.
