@@CEOEntrepreneur Something's not right. I've tried this very simple process in 3 different browsers and the "GET INSTANT ACCESS" button simply does nothing. It has no behavior at all. It did work on my Android smartphone, though, using Google Chrome! It shouldn't have anything to do with the first device but hopefully it does. Very strange. Also, while we're at it, you seem to be asking for cookie compliance twice, and from 1025px viewport width upwards, text seems to bleed out its container on that page, on Brave and Firefox at least. Use the zoom function on your browser to see it happen. Hope It's not exclusive to my device too lol

@@The-Athenian strange indeed but thank you for pointing this out. We’ve recently just moved our website over to a much faster server to cater for our new and much improved community platform launching in April, so maybe a few things have been lost in translation (so to speak). This has now been reported internally to our team and they’ll investigate in more detail tomorrow. I have noticed the double cookie notice myself too. If you still haven’t managed to get access to the slides… just email me at my first name (tamer) followed by @ceoentrepreneur.com and I’ll forward them to you by email and also offer you a free (absolutely zero sales and no commitment to buy anything from us ever) call where I will be happy to answer whatever questions you may have for your business. This is a way to apologise for the hassle but also thank you for pointing it out to us. Once again, Apologies for this… we want to make sure your experience with us is smooth, but as you know from the masterclass, things don’t always go to plan... It’s how you deal with them that hopefully helps you keep growing 😅🚀

@@CEOEntrepreneur Improvement is a continuous process right? I'm glad you made a better change! And congratulations on your awesome communication skills, was really surprised at how kindly I was spoken to. Just so you're in the know about your viewers, I found your videos while looking for company management advice. You're very well placed in the results. I work at a small IT company with the founder who created it in 2011 and is still pretty much stagnated. I've been working here for 3 years just focusing in the tech support I have to solve, but lately I've been thinking I should own the company per say, in my head, and try to grow it. At the very least it will be a learning experience. Pretty much the company lacks in all aspects of company management so I'm starting with the why, because there isn't any. If I understand correctly, the company was created "for fun". The founder enjoys working in IT, this is the 3rd company he's created, and he wants money of course but in my opinion there's just too many things we're selling, no focus, no decent branding (company is named Radical Page, which doesn't sound like the company takes itself seriously in my opinion). So anyway I'm making a step by step growth project divided into different stages which consist of implementing data collection methods we will use to find out what services or products pay better per hour of our time spent on them. And using your overviews as guidelines I'm confident we'll steadily improve!

Mistakes I have made so far: not putting funds into marketing early enough, hiring incompetent staff and keeping them for too long, not creating SOP's and transparent ways to over see the processes, delegating without scheduling regular follow up meetings, not anticipating how my staff has to grow with the business. Growth creates new roles within the company which I didn't realize caused stagnation and an inability to move forward. We were operating on a model that only worked in a smaller space with less services. This caused us to stagnate for the first 6 months after moving to a new location, being too accommodating to staff that is not a good fit for the business.

Live chat ended by KZbin... so I'll answer @wendy alison 's question here: Q: Actually I have a question about that. As a creator a lot of my business is about the work I create. Can I be the creator in my business and the CEO? A: YES... you can... it's a great question. But you should allocate time to be the 'CEO' and time to be 'creative' they are two different roles...and sometimes, some creative people hire a CEO... but it's definitely possible and there are a lot of examples out there of people who do both of people who do both so there is creativity in that too... If you think about it, the role of the CEO is to be a 'visionary' and that involves not only strategy but quite a bit of creativity too.... and this is why it is different to the COO role which is better built for an integrator.

Hi! I was writing a novel and to give more credibility to the characters I started studying the "business things" (I never been in that environment, and they needed to talk and act like workers). Even before discovering the 6 hats, my characters took each one a role. So they had their role written on the door. It was not enough, I was curious to know what their roles mean... long story short, in the last three years I studied agile, problem solving, design thinking, product management, lean, and I found all this stuff so interesting!! A little random, and confusing, like every education you can get from youtube videos. I really needed your videos to get the overall view, to complete the puzzle!! So thank you so much!!! And another important thing!! My dream is to be an artist, sell my books and drawings, and artists never consider that this means that they must become an entrepreneur. We are lost in our fantasy... So, it was a very long journey, I felt like I was losing precious time and going too far from my goals, but all this knowledge will help me one day when I will be my own CEO!!
@CEOEntrepreneur
@CEOEntrepreneur 2 жыл бұрын
Nadia what a great comment! Thank you! I’ll be intrigued to read your novel when it’s complete. Please reach out to me when it is. And yes this stuff is fascinating and the psychology behind what drives people in business is really interesting. Finally I agree that experts in particular field and especially artists need to understand how to be an entrepreneur so that they can market themselves. Unfortunately our education system just teaches us to be followers within our fields of choice and there’s a big component missing in how to lead, take risk and run your own business in your field of choice. Hopefully this channel will over time try to rectify this ;) best of luck on your novel!

This is incredible! Especially the part about split testing, wow! Correct me if I'm wrong (?) but it's a bit like with say for example Facebook ads... you're testing, testing, testing... initially at a loss or breakeven, and then you find a few winning ads and scale them to huge numbers profitably, while still testing other things on the side to hopefully stack winners (in this video's case, killer systems and processes). All while managing cash flow so tests never drop you to $0 and you can't scale your winners anymore.

I have to say that I have so much anxiety about running out of money. Everytime you say "don't run out of money" I get heart palpitations. I borrowed money from a patient in Jan 2020 to purchase a company I grew and managed for over 2 years. 3 months into me owning the company, I was mandated by the governor to close my business due to covid. My business was closed for 3 months. I had to get emergency SBA funding and the PPP loan to re open. I rely on insurance income which often creates a huge cash flow issue when they "have glitches" and just refuse to pay. I often have these issues that cause me so much stress. I am in the process of offsetting those cash flow issues but it takes time. I am hoping to learn about how I can further mitigate these issues quickly.
@CEOEntrepreneur

Yes running out of cash does cause us business owners a lot of anxiety especially in the early days of a business and also during the pandemic. There are strategies you can implement to try to smoothen cash fluctuations out a bit and manage what’s coming in and equally importantly what’s going out and when (negotiate with people you have to pay). Keep going… you’re doing the right things by asking the right questions. Let me know if you have a specific finance related (or other business) question and I’ll see if I can do a video on it and mention you. You’ve got this.. 🔥🚀

@@amberlindberg3435 apologies!!! I missed these comments hiding within the thread. I’m sorry to hear about your MIL… Taking over a business any business is a challenge even if you’re a pro at running businesses. To remain consistent, try to view the business as a collection of systems. Documenting those systems and getting the team to continuously optimise and repeat them will help maintain some higher levels of consistency. That also means optimising your lead generation systems etc. I have a new series on systems that may help (kzbin.info/aero/PLn39xAKhD8juWEQ7Yu7OXTKNb7i0Du_ic). I love the channel and am so happy that I found it. Great info. One suggestion "Don't run out of cash' is not a strategy. Saying that is like telling someone that does not know how to fly 'don't crash the plane'. If you look at your case of having one large customer and them pulling the rug, that is a great place to start with a specific strategy. #1 is do not let any one customer control your cash flow so that if they leave it will put you out of business. #2 Be sure to get sufficient capital up front. I don't take on any projects without a deposit of at least 50% up front. having that would have prevented them from pulling the rug to soon and would have given you ample runway to at least meet payroll obligations. That is the only critique that I have with everything of yours that I watched so far. If you don't learn from that mistake its more likely to happen again.
@CEOEntrepreneur
@CEOEntrepreneur 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your valuable comment! I agree with you completely.... The incident was many years ago and whilst what you're saying is relevant, it was far more complex than relying on just one customer and getting paid in part upfront. We had many customers as well as investment money coming in. It was a much larger project (8 figures) and the client's was so large and well known that anyone who dealt with them had to follow their terms. And they did not pull out. They just didn't pay at the end. A similar example would be like working with a government body and they only pay in arrears and after many days - you either accept it or don't. Anyway it's a long story and it's also a long time ago! If you watch my videos on this channel on this story in more detail (kzbin.info/aero/PLn39xAKhD8ju0LCvDzcUiM8xzjCg5VNUi), part 2 outlines learning lessons from this and one of them was that we also grew too fast and didn't have the right infrastructure to manage risk. As for 'don't run out of cash'. Yes this is definitely NOT a strategy. This is a high level thing that you as the owner of the business are accountable for. Part of your job description. The strategy is indeed a lot more involved and outside the scope of this video. At the end of the masterclass, you'll see a blueprint that outlines where strategy fits into the bigger picture. We spend the first 4 months of our 12 month Firestarter Programme working on strategy, so yes, 'don't run out of cash' would not cut it as a strategy. What's your business and where are you in your business journey?

It’s not easy. But for what it’s worth, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve been where you are and it’s not fun. Key here is speaking to the right people that have experience, know-how and have you’re best interests at heart. Best of luck! 💜

Why would you close down a Facebook group with 5k members, if you could just create another one for the paid customers??
@CEOEntrepreneur
@CEOEntrepreneur Жыл бұрын
Thanks Zimmer for a great question! Under normal circumstances, your suggestion would be the right thing to do. This is why strategy is important and you can’t just generically apply the same tactics to every company. In the case of this business, it was promoting a movement of self love. She had two groups a free one that had 5K and the paid one that had very few people in it so your suggestion was already in place. The problem was that people joining the free group already felt as if they were part of the movement. So there was no need to buy anything. The minute that first free group was shut down, people who were in the free group felt they needed to pay to remain part of this movement. So they became paying clients. Again this piece of advice doesn’t apply to everyone. So don’t go shutting down your free Facebook group if you have one. That may be the perfect thing to have for your business or another one. The point I was trying to make is that strategy for each company is important and you need to look at the full picture and see what works for you not just copy what the norm is. Hope that makes sense

You’re welcome! You can do this! Failure is an essential step in learning… (I learn that the hard way 😅). If we don’t fail, then we’re not growing. What’s your new business about and what are you trying to achieve?

@@CEOEntrepreneur I can definitely relate. My first business failed due to lack of knowledge and also because I had no processes or systems in place. So when I did hire it was a complete bomb because I failed to put those in place prior. I have learned from my mistakes and I am so glad I found your channel. I am starting a cosmetic business again. May I ask, would I map out my processes in a project manager or jus a regular google doc? I want it to be easy to follow for my future hires. I am so glad I found your page, got my notifications turned on 🤗

It really doesn’t matter where you document your processes, as long as they’re easy to use / understand, consistent, and people know where to find them. A bit meta but… I always do an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for documenting SOPs very early on so that your process of making processes is the same throughout. It also helps later on as your employees start documenting their own processes when they optimise and find better ways of doing things. I’m planning to make a video about this soon so stay tuned 😉 … and best of luck!

@@CEOEntrepreneur Love the content. One of the interesting things in this post is the use of 'split tests'. This may be due to most of your businesses being 'tech oriented' (Im in service industry). Can you unpack more of what this means and how to apply it in starting and growing a business?

You are entertaining and sharp enough. And im glad i was able to test this theory from ur pther videos. I think ur views would increase of you used this same meat & potatoes tactic in your shorter videos! Thank u
