Ceramic Coating +14 MONTHS Later? How does it hold up? - Carpro

How well is my ceramic coating (UK 3.0 from Carpro) holding up more than 14 months after application?
This is my daily car and it is driven all year and parked outside every day.
Also I did an experiment where I only applied one layer of protection to one panel and two layers to the rest of the car. Does it even make a difference?

I applied 2 coates to my pearl white lexus GS and 2 coats on my black f150, words cant describe the way it looks, absolutely amazing, i love this carpro 3.0, and as soon as it gets warmer im going to do my mustang. Best thing i ever done, im a neat freak when it comes to my vehicles inside and out.

Was it difficult to apply on white paint ? What I mean is can you clearly distinguish the area that you have covered ?

@@razorSH not difficult at all, i done the entire car, everything except the windows, took about 4 hrs to apply 2 coates

If testing the difference between 1 and 2 coats was the goal, I'd advise against putting one coat on the roof. Use a different, vertical panel (say a passenger door) to test, depending on the grit in the air, most cars will take the most beating on the roof. Where I live air is VERY dusty, and even several years old cars already have faded clear coat on roofs, and many 10 year old cars have no more clearcoat on their roofs. When I wash my car and pull the drying towel it sticks so hard to the rough surface that I once ripped a microfiber cloth doing it. So without doubt, I suggest putting 2-300 coats on the roof (right behind the antenna you can get away with one layer, the turbulence doesn't let as much grit to hit your car 😋)

Yea, and now you are following the industry that advices you to polish you car every chance you get, so they can get your money. The fact that you car nowadays has incredibly thin paint and all of your UV protectant is on the TOP PORTION of the clearcoat (it sort of floats on the surface of a clearcoat like oil on water) and ones that is gone the sun will kill you clearcoat in matters of few years, be damned.

@@ejoautovideos Cquartz SIC. Its a silicone carbide based coating from carpro. It provides added slickness and deeper gloss over uk 3.0. But isint quite as durable.

Yea, and then the "magic wax" has to be "boosted" every 3 months so you ACTUALLY get the effect you paid for!?! Hey, I can sell you magic fuel that will last you 1000 miles for 5x the cost, you just need to add gasoline every 300 miles to "refresh its efect". How bout it ya dummies? If I want somthing that needs to be sprayed every 3 months to keep its efect I can buy a avrg sealant for 1/5th the cost and much faster application. Its incresible just how stupid people are and how willing they are to participate in self brainwashing. You can tell when the whole $i*king industry advertises BEATING instead of SHEETING.

@@MD-gk4uh You see, like a happy person. Anyways, a quality coating will last a very long time even without toppers. See ScottHDs videos. UK3.0 lasted like 700+ days with just a monthly wash and no toppers.

@@Saddedude No it won't. Not in real life. The whole point of protection is that it is noticable. Bot even a non-2K clearcoat will last that long on an averege car. You watching to much infomercials, which all of am are.

I wouldn't recommend anyone use tfr as a whole car cleaning agent, especially with cars which have had fresh paintwork or smart repairs. Using tfr can and will eat into paintwork especially if fresh, there are other agents you might want to explore to ensure you don't have customers claim on your liability insurance should tfr cause any residue streaking. If tfr is kept wet on original paintwork it can be incredibly effective and cause zero impact to the original paintwork. Your video is well put together, it's great to see people doing such good content that instills confidence for car lovers to be more caring and tentative with their vehicles.

I’m finding panels or specific areas on a panel which are exposed to more heat do not last as long. For example, on the hood, the coating is no longer present just above the engine but is still present above the transmission.

Grymma videos. Har precis börjat få intresset att vårda min bil bättre. Har kollat på många tvätt videos och tester. Kan du inte göra en tvätt på en OKQ8 station eller liknande för att visa hur man går tillväga utan att ha möjlighet att göra det hemma. Tror många uppskattat det :)

Hey, the Uk performs over this time really good. But, 2 layers (uk 3.0) made no sense. Carpro even says that more layers does not increase the service life. Good for conscience, but I also think it's a waste of product.

I am torn between using Armour Shield IX or Car Pro CQuartz UK 3.0, topped with SIC. Which would you choose. Brilliant video by the way. 😊

Miranda Detailing did a maintenance wash on a minivan that had one layer of UK 3.0 on it, and it looked great. My results were more like yours with the one layer. I'm going to experiment with wipe off times. I want to get the results Phil got.

I also applied 2 layers for my Volvo V70 and I left the roof with 1 layer because I wanted to see how it would hold up.

@@ejoautovideos Yes I did, I found the exact same results. I have had this coating on for almost 9 months and I started seeing that the roof was producing different results from the rest of the Volvo. It was just sheeting slower then the rest of the car as shown in your video. Two coatings of the ceramic coating really makes a difference.

And something that really brought it back to life was the meguiars sio2 ceramic detailer. I use it all the time on the car for the maintenance. This product is perfect for a maintenance because it doesn't hide the coatings ability.

En lite för sen fråga kanske, men hur gör du med "pianolacken", d.v.s. alla de svarta lackerade ytorna som det finns en hel del av på din Honda. Är det på samma sätt som övrig lack? Jag lyckas inte se det i poleringsguiden du lagt ut, där jag tror Hondan är med. For you non swedes: a question regarding polishing/treating the black clear coated areas of his Honda.

Bra fundering! För det första så är det plastpaneler, och med plastpaneler får man tänka lite extra på värmeutvecklingen, då plast inte sprider värmen lika bra metall. Så inte stå för länge på samma ställe med hög hastighet. Sen just för det pianosvarta; dessa är EXTREMT känsliga för repor och svårt att få till en bra finnish. Så för det första måste man experimentera med en lämplig polish/rondell kombo. Oscillerande maskin är nästan ett måste här. Sedan är "residue control" mycket viktigt här, dvs att hela tiden se till att rondellen är helt ren, man får skölja ur den då och då eftersom man samlar upp gamla lackpartiklar. När man torkar av polermedlet är det superviktigt att använda en mjuk, högkvalitativ mikrofiberduk som är helt ren/ny. Så egentligen samma princip som i övrigt, men bara mycket mer kritiskt moment.
