That "6-week lead time" has turned into a 6-month lead time during/after the pandemic for their bigger amps (9-12 weeks for their "lunchbox" versions).

PPIMV is after both the preamp and the phase inverter (present only on push-pull designs). Most volume/gains are placed before the PI, but that means the PI can't contribute to the distortion (which is often a desirable trait). The PPIMV lets you take advantage of all the Distortion sans the power tubes distortion. You want the full experience of a PT distortion then you need a attenuator. IMO, This is actually an amazing clean amp.

This is the exact tone I'm seeking for... fuzzy at high gains, and reduced brightness with beefier sounding in unwound strings 🎉
@JohnSwan-t8k Жыл бұрын
Well, a JTM45/100 is not fuzzy and a high gain amp, you want to check out RooseveltMckinley, now that's a real Marshall JTM45/100 sound.
@KralSolak Жыл бұрын
20:13 I'm not sure is fuzz pedal working here but, you may hear fuzzy choked, blurry, dirty at low E especially using it with another string like A, It generates sub level low harmonics, Its what I mentioned.. I have checked your suggestion, there's a video with a goldtop LP, but he's not playing in low strings with neck pickup(neck pickup is important to get that fuzzy sub effect) so my theory is, this amp can produce the tone that I like if you know how to set it. ;)

I've had this same amp for 10 years, it's good to finally see a professional demo! Great playing, by the way. It really does sound every bit like this in person... the only thing not fully conveyed here is just how ungodly loud the thing is running on top of two 4x12's. It's like jet-engine loud, not even exaggerating. Edit: I should add that the PPIMV puts just a little compression on your sound, maybe a bit of fizz on the treble. Not even a bad sound, though. It opens up when you turn it off. But that's barely even noticeable when you're just using it at like 20% to tame it for an indoor gig. You'll be thankful you have it, trust me. Also, Nik is the man!! Well and truly. Ya'll give him your business.

I got to compare both JTM45 and JTM 45/100 back to back and the clear winner was the 45/100. It just sounded better in every way right off the bat and while they are loud they aren't as loud as a superlead. Somewhere between a 50 watt lead and a superlead. Plus the type of tone the 45/100 puts out is not as bright but more full so it's easier on the ears for sure. Maybe my favorite circuit Marshall built. Hendrix got the right amp for his style but I think he did use Superleads later.
@BuddyBlues3 жыл бұрын
I envy that experience of having both a jtm 45 and a 45/100 to play through! Thanks so much for the comment this must have been a blast
@HiHello-ku1fl3 жыл бұрын
@@BuddyBlues a moment I will never forget. I also owned a 66 JTM 45 for awhile. Between the 100 watt superlead and 50 watt lead I actually prefer the 50's because they are a bit loser and feel more organic.... have a bounce to them. So for me JTM45/100 along with a smallbox 50 watt lead or bass are my favorite Marshalls. Both of the 50's are killer. Or can be if they are right. I think I always prefer the bass circuits for some reason.

In certain ways this is similar to the Marshall JTM 45/100. Perhaps it's the setup. The Marshall crunches more, the highly compressed sound is quite diffetent, but so are the Marshalls between themselves, some compress a lot at 2 already, some start at 4 or 5, but they have a bigger sound overall and sound more rocky with lots of clarity and attack.

There is very little to no mods that need to be done to a Ceriatone - The are PTP wired (Fuchs are PCB for those PTP fanboys out there) the components are top quality - Sprague Caps, mil spec components where important. The secret to Nik's prices are he is based in Indonesia and therefore can source parts cheaper, his transformers are made to custom spec to match the exact specs of the amp he is going after.. I've read on some forums that upgrading to Mercury Magnetics leads to a very small difference, but makes the amps a little more touch sensitive - it was described as "More of a feel thing rather than a tone" the poster went on to say he kinda wished he didn't do it because of the small change. But for you OTS people out there a way to get the OTS to sound even sweeter and closer to a two rock kind of clean (The Ceriatone has a sweeter clean tone than a Fuchs imo which can sound sort of tight and not sweet) it doing a LNFB mod on it. Only other mod would get some high quality Tubes, mess around with some NOS 12ax7 in difference slots on the amp and a good speaker. These amps are a cheat code for great amazing tone at great prices.
@BuddyBlues3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! Very well said will certainly try the tube thing
@gryphon9403 жыл бұрын
@@BuddyBlues Nice! And to anyone who is wondering what a LNFB mod is - It's Local Negative Feedback. Global Negative Feedback is Power Amp and all Dumbles have it. Local NFB is preamp - it changes up the gain structure slightly and really does magic and all Two Rocks use both. Have a qualified tech do it though, it's incredibly simple and Nik at Ceriatone can do it for a small added cost if you buy direct!

Hello dude, aré you still preserve your ceriatone?. I just bought a clone Ceriatone JCM 800 2204 amplifier but it's too noisy, it happens that they only bought the kit already assembled completely, except the transformers and placed transformers classic tone but the person who sold it to me placed the power transformer and the output transformer parallel and not in 90 degrees as it should be done, this is what generates a lot of noise by the so called inductance. To access both channels simultaneously a short jumper cable is run between the two channel inputs. For example: plug your guitar into input I of the Normal channel. Then connect a jumper from input II of Normal channel into input I of the High Treble channel. The signal is now being sent to both channels simultaneously. Turn up the Normal and High Treble volume controls to achieve the tonal balance and gain level you want, then use the amp’s tone controls for final shaping of your sound. There are many videos on KZbin for further reference. Keep on keeping on bro
