I review Abbas Kiarostami's 2010 film "Certified Copy" starring Juliette Binoche, William Shimell and Jean-Claude Carrière.

Kiarostami made one other non-Persian language film, Like Someone in Love, which is in Japanese.

Bloody hell mate, I remember you from years ago, I was ortonproductions, I'm sure I made a video for you on my channel and you made a American psycho morning routine ? You've changed a fair bit.

Dan!!! Man I'm so bad at commenting but I've literally watched every video on your new channel haha. Was good to see you back on the tube! Yeah I remember that video as well, have it somewhere on my computer still haha. Yeah man the passage of time is pretty transformative although you haven't aged a day of course ;)

Nice review. I just watched this again and I love it but it's also rather frustrating at times. Just when you think James is finally gonna turn up the warmth after taking the old stranger's advice and putting his hand on the woman's shoulder as they walk, they go into a restaurant and he turns into an inexcusably massive jerk. I mean he was cold the whole time leading up to that, but what the hell was that? Recoiling from the small gesture of romance and vulnerability he had just made? And in three or four viewings I still have no idea what to make of the status of their relationship at the beginning of the film. What does the son's comment about "Why did you ask him not to write my surname?" tell us? Anyway, puzzling but great film that sticks with you. Juliette Binoche is simply fantastic.

It is indeed, it’s one that I’ve had to learn to come to terms with the fact that ultimately we will never know. But that’s what intrigues me about the film and why it begs you to return to it time and again. Thanks for watching! :)
