Mercedes-Benz made a big splash at CES 2024, showcasing a slew of exciting advancements that focus on creating a hyper-personalized user experience, both inside and outside the car. From a next-gen virtual assistant powered by generative AI to a stunning electric concept car and in-car gaming, the German automaker proved once again that it's at the forefront of automotive innovation.
1. MBUX Virtual Assistant with Generative AI
One of the most talked-about features is the new MBUX Virtual Assistant with Generative AI. This next-gen assistant takes the "Hey Mercedes" experience to a whole new level. It uses generative AI and advanced 3D graphics to create a more natural and intuitive interaction. Imagine a virtual companion that can not only follow your commands but also adapt to your mood and preferences, making suggestions and adjusting the car's settings accordingly.

2. Concept CLA Class
Another star of the Mercedes-Benz show was the Concept CLA Class. This electric stunner, making its North American debut at CES, is the first car built on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA). It boasts a sleek design, an impressive range of over 466 miles on a single charge, and a futuristic in-car experience powered by the new MB.OS.
"The Concept CLA Class is a glimpse into the future of electric vehicles," said Källenius. "It's stylish, efficient, and packed with cutting-edge technology. We can't wait to bring it to market."
3. MBUX SOUND DRIVE and In-Car Entertainment Innovations
Mercedes-Benz also partnered with will.i.am to introduce MBUX SOUND DRIVE, a system that adapts music to the driving style and mood. Collaborations with Audible and Amazon Music bring immersive audio experiences with Dolby Atmos technology. And if you're a gamer, you'll be happy to know that Mercedes-Benz is venturing into in-car gaming with Antstream Arcade, offering retro classics and exciting new titles.

4. DRIVE PILOT - Automated Driving System
Making its way into the 2024 EQS and S-Class models is DRIVE PILOT, a Level 3 conditionally automated driving system. This means the car can handle certain driving tasks on its own under specific conditions, taking a significant step towards safer and more relaxing journeys.
"DRIVE PILOT is a major step forward in automated driving technology," said Källenius. "It makes driving on the highway less stressful and more enjoyable."
5. Cutting-Edge In-Car Technologies
Other cool stuff Mercedes-Benz showcased includes MBUX Surround Navigation for seamless route guidance, a new in-car music experience co-developed with will.i.am, and enhanced in-car audio storytelling features.
