THIS!!! This is the best and honest review on KZbin I have seen so far. Fair "critism" on the bike. 90% of riders aren't capable to use it to the max, but 90% of the riders will enjoy this bike on trails/Offroad as it allows them (and me too) so much offroad experience versus a big Yamaha Tenere, Suzuki DE 800 or equivalent stuff. Kudos

Isnt Yamaha Tenere 700 just slightly heavier than this bike? I feel these bikes are almost the same.

@@oscr_zen Yes, about 14 kg's lighter. But CF weight distribution is way lower than the T7. For normal sized people (around 1,74 m) the better option. Feeling so confident offroad due to the riding height.

I'm beginning to think we shouldn't use the word "cheap" anymore. It implies poor quality. These are "very competitively priced" or "inexpensive" motorcycles that are changing expectations. I will probably, and gladly, have one of these in my garage for pottering around the hills of Greece.

Lets wait untill we hear from people after owning them for at least a year. I think the main difference (compared to the Japanese bikes for example) at this point is reliability, not things you see/feel after a day of riding. Also by buying these, you are literally supporting comunist regime in China.
@WorldBiker
@WorldBiker 29 күн бұрын
@@petrnemec7840 started by a man called Lai Guogiang, who partnered with KTM, and then went public on the Shanghai stock exchange. Doesn't sound particularly communist to me. That and one would be very hard pressed indeed to find a motorcycle that did not have some parts made in China. Maybe it's time to get over the whole communist thing, all things considered.

@@BikeWorldTVshowThat actually says a lot about the company that they were glad you road it hard and actually tested it the way it was meant to be ridden. I was really looking forward to the KTM/Husqvarna 490/501 twin cylinder platform and had planned on buying the Svartpilen 501 when it came out. Now that KTM has canceled that line of bikes I'm exploring different options and this 450MT from cfmoto is starting to rise to the top of the list. I want to see what the new 450 offerings from BMW and Aprilia look like before I make a decision, but I will probably be buying one of these in the spring.

So great to finally get your thoughts on this bike! I agree, I think this bike just represents such a leap in features and capability from the previous generation of ADVs in this class and price range that it's a bit tempting to nitpick and compare it to much more expensive ADVs. I think Diogo of Offroad Off Course hit the nail on the head when the called the suspension on this bike "a short blanket" - adjust it one way, it gets too short on the other end. This is one area I think the Himmy 450 doesn't get enough credit, suspension is non-adjustable but can cover a wider range of conditions comfortably.

One thing that I've learned is that the most capable bike offroad is the one you don't care about. That's not to say Chris doesn't care, obviously he wouldn't want to give this bike back all destroyed. It's just to say that you can learn more and push yourself more when the only thing that's preventing you from trying an obstacle is fear of hurting yourself not fear of breaking the bike. I almost always recommend a DRZ400, DR650, XR650L to new riders because they're cheap, parts are cheap, and they're tanks. I think one of the great things about these cheaper bikes is that you can abuse them without feeling bad and/or destroying your budget. I love my 701 Enduro but I do miss the parts cost on my DR650.

Looks and sounds like a great bike Chris, with some fettling to the suspension and a bit of off-road prep it would be a great fun/sturdy adventure toy for very reasonable money. Love the exhaust note too which adds another dimension to the 450 class IMO. This appears to be a genuine scaled down T7 (in price and capacity) with all the good points that the T7 offers. tbf it isn't worthy of being in the chat and i bet it is only in there because of hype and its cost - the tuareg is a beast off road and on and the specs make this look like the low grade bike that it is - in comparison of course, the TA is a beauty and will last forever, it will carry you on road in lush happiness and take some off road within reason - sorry but the CF is not in the same game, never mind the same league

As a Taureg 660 owner, my advice is to take an honest evaluation of where you will actually ride. If you are under 6’ tall and plan to ride serious off-road then choose this. The seat height difference, unless you are very tall or Chris Birch, will make the difference between a fun day or a miserable day. I am 5’7”, with 32” jeans inseam, and installed the 50mm lowering links on my Taureg, but it is still intimidating in the serious stuff. For less serious trails and fire lanes, the Taureg is a blast. On the highway, cruising at 95mph with the cruise control is sweet.

Chinese metallurgy has been questionable for decades, for good reason. Chinese stainless that rusts to dust in a year, KTM Duke with chocolate cams, cast items made from the finest of 'monkey metal'. Brand new bikes may shine and feel tight, get a long termer or review a CFMOTO that has done a year or two.

You always have a great “come along” style that’s a lot of fun. I see a parallel in the value pricing of this sweet 450 ADV bike….. Has anyone ordered a new Chinese e-bike over the summer?! This then shouldn’t be a surprise. A nice new 24” Class 2 (US) pedal assist or throttle only, 40 mile range for $375 delivered - for my big 9yo son. The quality and components, everything works and display, grips and throttle & actuation, and more, can only describe it as feeling German!! Makes some sense as they learned a lot from VW, Audi, Siemens and -medical, BASF, they are capable at high spec manufacturing - and at these price points. While that’s great, I also ponder the impact of my money going to China - while they support Putin invading Ukraine. 🇺🇦 Putin and Xi (now lifetime premier) aggression causing unrest, let’s keep it real. I’ve enjoyed an off road trip with a pack of Chinese “GS guys” in central China. They actually appreciate our western culture deeply. They have their own dedications to Jefferson Memorial who was the U.S. 3rd president. So there’s quite a dichotomy with the state of relations. We’re just becoming so reliant on China, not sure if we might regret that in the future.

For me, this bike misses the mark by around 100 lb, 3 inches of suspension travel, and 15 hp. But with the specs as is, it's perfectly capable of cruising on and offroad, and I bet a bunch of people will grab this bike and have great rides and adventures on it.

One bike that's very similar is a 30 year old Kawasaki KLE500 - do you have an idea how those compare?

Where in the country is this? Looks like a decent place to thrash a bike.
