Displacement does dictate exhaust tone to an extent. The bigger the motor, usually the deeper it sounds. A kawasaki 250 is higher pitched than a 650 even though they're basically the same engine.

OC, i just installed an ixil slip on for my 450ss that i ordered from the US website. It only comes in black but it looks great on the black bike & yes it sounds great also. $370.97 delivered to my door in 4 days. Had this brand on my KTM 390 duke, never had a problem.

Ixil and Leovince also have slip on kits for the 450SS. They are quite a bit cheaper ($370 and $270 respectively if you buy direct from the manufacturer) but the Yoshimura does have a much more refined exhaust note, at least based on this video. I've got the Ixil one on mine and I like the way it looks and sounds, personally, but it's not going to be for everyone. In any case, more aftermarket options can only possibly be a good thing, at least on our end.

I had a 450ss running behind me last weekend like at traffic speed, it was red I don't know if it was custom color, but it has the same decals with yours, I really thought it was a Ducati with the sound. Until it passes my little bike for me to see the CF moto logo on the crank case and the tail lights

What is nice is that the ECU is readable and programmable without having to go aftermarket so can you imagine what a cat delete full Yosh system would do for livening that little mill up? I am not so snobby as to discredit wanting one just to build up as a toy for commuting to and from work on and the occasional hooligan ride. Thanks for sharing and I hope Yoshi comes out with a full header back system that will allow that engine to be uncorked even more, because stock it puts out 46hp at the rear wheel if we could squeak say 60 to 65 out of it that little rascal would be insane.

In a rough estimate, how much louder would you say it is? I have sensitive hearing and AM stuff on the bikes I have had thus far have made the rides pretty uncomfortable even with ear pro. I have been looking very closely at the NK for my next bike and would like to keep the stock exhaust, but those gains may be worth it.

It’s a cross plane crank just like the MT07 that’s why it sounds so deep and mean. The normal parallel twins don’t sound quite as good.
