I leave my top box on but I use a helmet lock. I also added a toolbox to the left pannier frame and the pannier still fits (just). Inside the toolbox is a air compressor and a tyre repair kit.

I fitted a top box to my CB500x last year. I use it for everything apart from storing my crash helmet. It takes up too much space ! I secure my crash helmet to the bike with a short locking cable. The top box never comes off and it’s brilliant ! Good luck with your luggage, aluminium is really the best.

Can confirm these are very robust guys. I didnt lock my topbox on with the key; hit a very rough track, lost the box, worst part was my work bag with computer was inside. Thankfully oldmate found it after it bounced into the scrub and he returned it, a few scuffs. That was all. LOCK the boxes on with the key fellas, very rough dirt roads make them vibrate off. They are very tough and waterproof

Love the black cases i wanted them on my explore but unfortunately we now can only get silver in the Uk As they were free with the bike i cant complain . Thats about £500 extras i got for free.
