Great info! I’ve caught a lot of spotted bay bass using 1/4 oz. Hook up baits in the bay. It seems to be the most consistent for me. I really like how you talked about taking care of the fish. That’s very important. A little bit more on presentation would have been nice.

What size rod do you use with it and how do you work it? I think my rod is too big I can hardly feel the hookup bait on my line lol Edit: I realized I have been using 1/8 oz, I guess that makes sense lol

I buy hookups to stay away from spotties try throwing them in the surf, spotties are dumb and will eat anythin, save those baits for halibut perch or corbina and you might just spare a few baits from getting chewed by spotties

The HUB'S do catch all fish equally well. I have to disagree with you on spotties eating anything tho. Try fishing a tournament with that logic. You won't do so well. You can catch the smaller ones on all most anything when the water is warm. But catching them when the water is cold and catching bigger ones anytime is challenging.

Thank you for all the tips I have been catching a bunch of trout on the Truckee off the 1/16 sizes I can’t wait to try bigger sizes for spotties and at pyramid. I love these baits and your right about it being able to be the only bait in your box, they work!
