I really want to try these off an SUP or surfboard just past the surf line. What weight would you recommend for that? I’m assuming similar technique? Thanks! (Caught my first halibut on a 5/8 last week in an inlet. Way too heavy but the fish didn’t care. Got some 1/4 now, can’t wait to try them!
@HookupBaits2 жыл бұрын
There's a few guys that do that and they love our baits for it. The 3/8 would be the best size to throw.

Awesome video! How’s the fishing in January? And what should I target ?

Saltwater bass fishing in both the bays and outside on deep structure is good year round.

You covered everything and I know it might seem like a dumb question but how come nobody ever keeps the legal bass u catch?
@jordansollitto61716 жыл бұрын
TK fam5 it's just a fish which has a slow growing population so its always better to let them go if u can/want to

14 inch or bigger is legal to keep. We choose to never keep any bass. They are purely for sport and tourment fishing for us . Thanks

Do you like doing the double hookup rig for calico like you do deep rock cod fishing? Can that be fished on top of water column?
@HookupBaits6 жыл бұрын
Definitely can be very affective for bass. We used the double all the the for bass. Not recommended for top water fish like yellow tail and tuna

@@HookupBaits Thanks! What would you recomend for Local 1/2 day boat calico/bonito fishing? Two 3/8 or two 5/8? Or should I go heavier
@HookupBaits6 жыл бұрын
@@curtiswilson1526 for bass i like 2 5/8. Try 2, 3/8 if the fish are suspended. I dont recommend the double for Bonito. 1 5/8 is what you want for them. They love the mint one.

Dropper loop work in the bay?
@HookupBaits4 жыл бұрын
Dropper loop would work but you will be taking most of the magic out of the baits because you won't have the same sink

Nice video can you use hook up baits for a double dropper loop for bottom fishing

Soo good great bait. Can you please do how to fish for spotted bay bass (spotties).

For spotties its exactly the same. As explained in the video. 👍

@@HookupBaits, this has been working... except when there has been no current in the water. What do I do then? Otherwise, it works soooo well.
@HookupBaits5 жыл бұрын
@@nicolacko8507 when there's no. Current in the bay the entire bite slows. All you can do in that situation is down size and more finesse. Same technique tho

There's no wrong way to fish a HUB. just get it in the strike zone
