Ever since I had back to back knee injuries about ten years ago, I have lost a lot of my basic tricks as well as my confidence with ollies. Now, being sober and focusing more on my health, my body feels better than ever and today I decided to work on some tricks that I have always wanted to learn as well as a few that I’ve done in the past but haven’t felt confident with recently. I’m psyched to keep practicing round rails and eventually take it to the streets. If you guys have any tips for skating round rails leave them in the comments below!

Sounds like you’re using Final Cut Pro, to avoid that robotic sound when doing slow motion, select the clip, and check “preserve pitch” and it’ll sound way cooler. Also, if you use “range” tool instead of cutting to choose what you want to slowmo, you’ll get the ramp up and ramp down option put on the slowmo automatically. Hope this helps!! Love your videos, wish I had the courage to talk in mine, really adds to the experience. Keep up the good work!

As do I approve of the verbal humility, but his trick selection, and ability to succeed, makes the humility seem false.. if you’re trying to Smith a ledge, and 180 out, and have never done it before, and SUCCEED I don’t see the need for humility

Son. I’m sorry, I was wrong. Humility is always an admirable quality.. I have just skated for over 30 years, and had awesome days where I learned a new trick that I hadn’t been able to do before. But to film one session and just be pulling off tricks you’ve never tried before and succeed seems a lot harder in my experience than what this guy makes it look like. He rips! If he can go to the skate park and learn two new tricks that he’s never done in one day and pull them off, within a year he should be one of the top pros.
@wingedeathnoisewave

@@oyophant4745 that’s amazing development, you put in the work you get the reward.. I don’t want to be a negative person, or a keyboard warrior.. keep learning new things! That really is the amazing thing about skating... some tricks come more naturally, and some seem impossible to wrap our head around.. but most of it starts up here 🧏‍♂️

For being a 33 year old man that is a truck driver. The 1 trick that I liked doing on a skate rail was the K grind. I don't care what anybody says but a K grind on a skate rail is just as satisfying doing a clean kick flip catching it over the bolts and compressing your knees like Andrew Reynolds.

The worst thing about round rails when you’re first learning them is it feels different every time you lock your tucks. The rail could be by under your heals or under your toes or worse yet toe and heal and the problem is you don’t know what you got till you’re already on the friggin thing. Once that weirdness goes away and you’ve done enough to where you’re okay with any truck position that’s when you start to get good at them and can really try harder stuff with real confidence. I miss skating.

I used to skate from Freeport to Baldwin just to skate this park. Great times there! If only they got rid of the whole left section to add those ledges and rails and instead polished the right side where the half pipes and the small hubba was it’d be an amazing park. Used to be ledges and a good rail that were missing in that park. Now it’s the transition stuff that’s missing lmao 😂 greetings from NC!

I feel for that big dude trying to relearn all his shit. I tore my ACL which took me out for like 2 years and when I was healed I went back to the park like 40 pounds heavier and just felt like a struggling fatass the whole time. It ended up being a positive thing because I became used to doing tricks like it took a lot of effort and then as I lost weight by skating I still had that same effort but less weight and the tricks felt even easier to land than before I got hurt.
