Warm spiced chai meets moist carrot cake, a wholesome autumnal recipe you will love. Perfect if you're craving something warm and comforting, this cake is easy to make and pairs beautifully with a the burnt butter cream cheese icing. 🥕🥕
I N G R E D I E N T S :
240 g plain flour
2 tsp Pana Organic Chai Masala*
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
100ml olive oil
110g brown sugar
110g white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup buttermilk
3 medium grated carrots
ICING
125g brown butter (150g butter)
225g cream cheese
3 cups icing sugar
2 - 3 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
*DIY Chai blend:
3 tablespoon ground ginger
2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground allspice
1 tablespoon ground cardamon
1 ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 ½ teaspoon ground cloves
Place all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well to combine. Store in a spice jar or small mason jar.
Oven: 175C Fan Bake
Cook time: 45-50 mins until skewer comes out clean
