In case there was any confusion, Power is a Fiend. Fiends are born when a devil takes control of a human corpse. She's a Devil in a human body. Most fiends are like that guy that Denji decapitated, violent near-zombies. Power is unique in that she is more tame, and a bit more civilized, so she's able to work alongside devil hunters. Though she is still a Devil in human skin. Denji is a unique being alltogether. He is human that has fused with a devil and now has devil powers, though his humanity and conscience are still intact.

Yeah from what I gathered, this girl died, and then this devil named Power took over her body. So the girl she originally was is dead and gone.

Aki is like: "You're in need of a friend?! Say less. I'll arrange a partner/buddy for you. Meet Power!" Aki is just a nice, but cold dude. I like that he shares drinks with Cops, makes this world feel more real/modern considering their devil hunters. Power & Denji are going to be an awesome pairing, just two crazy/fun characters.

From what I remember them saying earlier is that when a devil possesses a *corpse*, they become a 'majin' or fiend. So the girl herself, she's dead, and the devil possessed her corpse - if im not mistaken. Again, if im not mistaken, Denji is a completely new thing, a fusion of the two, but yes, his personality is in control and his body is obviously alive.

Ok, since no one explained this yet: a Fiend is when a devil posseses a human corpse. The person is dead already. So the guy denji killed and power they are not human, just using the bodies of humans.

So just for clarification. Devils are personifications off human fears. When a devil takes over a persons corpse they become a Fiend. The Devil is in 100% control of the body, however some of corpses former personality can sometimes stick around in the Fiend. Denji is something else. Not a devil, not human, not a fiend.

All "fiends" are devils in control, not just Power. Fiends are Devils that took over human corpse. There is no human in them, at all. That's why Denji is special, he's not a fiend. He is a rare case of a Devil Human hybrid.

When a devil and their personality is in control of a human body, that's a fiend. Later episodes will probably explore how a devil's strength and intelligence relates to their appearance in fiend form since Power comea off as more "civilized" (using this word LIGHTLY) compared to other devils/fiends

Yeah it’s a rough read for sure. Like, the whole setup and universe of the CSM is so shounen you kinda figure that it’ll settle into a comfortable status quo where the team has adventures and villains of the week. But it never really does, it just keeps going, worse and worse events keep transpiring, piling one tragedy on another, until it all comes to an explosive head.
