Omg, Debi! In my humble oppinion, you should ignore rude comments. I refinish furniture myself and I know that people jump into conclusions having no bloody idea (pardon my French) about the real situation. As you said yourself, very often the furniture from that place goes to the dump. There's no guarantee that there would have been somebody else saving the pices you took the drawes from. To me, you saved what you could and you should be praised for it. People will see what they want to see. But you've got my full suport. I hope the launch of the new colours goes well 💪🏻😘

I was thinking much the same. Some thought Debi taking just the drawers prevented the entire piece from being salvaged, but as you said we don’t know that. Plus what I do know for sure is that missing drawers wouldn’t stop an enterprising DIYer. Many times I have seen furniture flippers replace drawers or create new drawers from scratch. And I have seen drawers used independently from their original furniture lots of times as well. It’s just not something to be fussed about.

Australia here. The thrift stores in my area have converted from charity shops that help low income people to businesses with higher prices than the regular stores. So forget it and I love watching people in the US get great things at their thrift stores.

Believe me the stores here are the same. I’m in Washington State. My sister goes to thrift stores to buy clothes. They are cheaper on sale at stores in our area. I saw a pair of jeans for $70 from the Gap and that was the Goodwill price. We do have stores that people can use vouchers to use toward clothes and goods. There are also stores that are al volunteer and help people in need. Some specialize in business clothes to help people look good for jobs. It’s crazy expensive here. Trying to sell my work is next to impossible. I love Debi and her work. Sure wish I could make it to one of her workshops. She lifts me up when I am down. On my way to get more paint!

I’m about an hour north of Debi in Orange County, California. The thrift stores around me are hit and miss. It really depends on the organization running the store. Some have prices that make me question how they can call themselves a thrift store and others have prices that comport with the name. I think you have to be aware of what items cost brand new and what desirable vintage items are being sold for at vintage stores. Thrift stores can have employees pricing their items like vintage or antique stores. I don’t buy those items from thrift stores and I often say something thrift stores when prices don’t live up to the name. The reason I’m willing to pay a vintage reseller or an antique dealer more money is for their expertise. They’ve curated their items by applying their knowledge of history and they’ve culled through lots and lots of junk. That’s added value. I don’t think one should buy antique or vintage anything just for the prestige, you have to really love that stuff enough to educate yourself so you know what you are buying. I am not a lover of antique or vintage furniture so I do not buy it. I do love vintage jewelry and that’s what I buy. I have repeatedly encountered inexperienced sellers both underpricing and overpricing jewelry. With the internet expanding markets the old adage, buyer beware, is more true than ever.

We have a craft thrift store. “Who gives a scrape.” It’s mine and my sons favorite place ❤I shove his stocking with all the craft supplies. I highly recommend sketch books, nice pencils, polymer erasers, graphite pencils, and so forth. Sometimes craft stores sell these high end pencils individually and I make my own set and curate them in a makeup bag from the thrift store. Blood moon looks like my custom mix purple-which is my favorite.

I love DIY products because I love Debbie so much!!! I am an avid crafter. My husband retired last February from his trucking career. I didn't realize how spoiled I was lol. Fortunately he allowed me to stock up on my crafting supplies ( I am blessed) .I can no longer afford DIY, IOD ect ect ect supplies. I know I'm not the only one that's in this financial position. Please don't hate on me for saying this. I'm just being honest. I absolutely love you DIY, IOD, Jamie Ray ect. P.S I live in a town of 400 so a booth isn't possible. I live 250 miles from OKC in the boonies lol

I adore your new colors as they jive perfectly with how I decorate for Christmas! The Putz house knock off is a chef's kiss to these new colors!
