I feel like since Kona that Sam has continually felt like he has to prove himself. And while I understand why he feels that way, I have a sneaking suspicion that when he finally lets that go he will really shine.

Kind of agree, I don't know if he let that go, but he just won the world championships !

I spent 7 months training for Roth then hit a pothole and crashed on my TT 3 weeks out at 40mph. By some fluke healed up enough to enjoy the race, not the race I planned but such an incredible atmosphere, loved every minute of it. Favourite moment was when you and Magnus came flying past on the bike! Absolute machines and a privilege to share the road with the top pros.

„Magnus D“ signature on the shoes - love it. On a more serious note I hope you get yourself mentally in shape too, start more positive self-talk and visualize success. You can do all the physical perfect training, but if you tell yourself & even out loud to your surroundings that you can’t win…well, surprise surprise Sam. The fans love your humorous character - don’t drag it into self-ridiculing. I’m writing this here with the best intentions and wanting to see you do well. Rest&Heal up and hit again brother, you have a long and fun career ahead of you with wonderful people surrounding you.

Best Tips! it's nice to hear them from you. To recap : 1) Relax on the swim dont burn yourself the day is still long, save energy 2) Be comfortable on the bike first, then be as Aero as possible without compromising that comfort. Comfort is power and power is speed. 3) Pacing : there no race dynamic. It's you against the time : go to your on pace, stick to your wattage. 4) Fuel correctly, this is the 4th discipline and the more important. 5) If you eat an ice cream while twerking the other tips are not necessary and you dont need to train bravo et merci pour ta course à Nice tu nous a fait vibrer! Enjoy

Super reportage !

I like your attitude "i race to win" Yeah, being smart and adapt during the race to the situation is needed i guess to be consistent. But overall, if you don't go out with that attitude and race aggressive, you probably will never be on top or win a big race. I respect that and hope you figure out the puzzle soon. See you in Roth next year hopefully 👍

Peut-être faire une optimisation de ton matos cap autant que ce que tu as fait en vélo, avec des tests comparatifs, a mon avis le rocker très marqué de la rocket X 2 et son faible drop te sollicite trop par rapport à une vaporfly

Rome wasn't built in day. Patience is a virtue. Listen to your body. I had a crap day at Roth after 10 miles on the run ended up on a drip in medical tent.... it can only make us stronger

Is a calf tear just pure overuse/overworking it on the day? or was it more gait related after you started cramping? It’s interesting I also struggle with cramps and find the damage to the body after bad cramping days always seems so much more severe. When you do figure out the secret to stopping the cramping, please share with us 😅
@iznasni Жыл бұрын
I’ve had quite a few calf tears unfortunately and running on a strained calf has always given me the same result: a tear in the muscle. Training too hard and too soon after the injury produces the same result, and if the tear itself scars badly, you can carry that injury waiting to happen for a long time. So in my age grouper experience, if there is a sore niggle or you can feel a strain in your calf, back off immediately (like I wasn’t able to do myself 😂) because a calf tear can hamper you for a long time. Hopefully Sam has access to top notch medical treatment and will be back fast… You can swim with a torn calf (no pushing on the wall) you can also (sort of ) cycle pretty soon after the injury but definitely no running befor 4 to 6 weeks 😢

What’s with the pink hat, you trying to be like link from Zelda? Or just a dink? Maybe trying to get a wink from the ladies? Being scared ain’t good! Harry hood dared you to attack that dude! Seems like they are all scared of ya Mags! Sorry Magglio Ordonez but I’m stealing your nickname here! Either way, great job to push through the Calf injury that did the smush to your race pace! Hopefully you can laugh about it! Maybe stop doing the twerk and go to work to get the perk! I don’t know that move but I definitely bust a groove out on the track! And I’m totally cool with looking like a fool or a hack! My 1st 2 raves were on tye-dyes guys!
