For me it’s about ride, comfort & of course the way the bike handles first. That being said I went from an HD to an Indian Springfield & never looked back ✌🏼

I've always liked the look of the Road King classic, but I always felt it was a bit clunky and heavy up top for me. My Indian Springfield is so smooth and well balanced, cruising heaven, all day, every day.

Indian Motorcycle. A PowerPlus Motorized Challenger! We are talking Inverted front suspension, lightweight cast-aluminum frame, and hydraulically adjustable Fox rear shock We are talking curve-hugging handling and stability. And we're talking race-spec radially-mounted Brembo brakes stopping power, and Metzeler Cruisetec tires all and more: Straight from the factory! and now with stage two cams! Love it!

I would have liked to see the 1/4 mile times compared to 1/8 mile. That would be more in line to what we are used to seeing. They are pretty close, though 1/4 mile times may be a bit farther apart.

So, the Challenger is a pretty bad ass bike; however, the technology is different. Overhead cams and liquid cooled makes a big difference. Put the Road Glide up against the Chieftain and that would be a more fair comparison. Not hating, just food for thought.

A more fair comparison would be up against a BMW K 1600 because they are claiming to be the king aren't they. Unless they go up against the real Top Dog it's just a bunch of BS.
@motoGPness
@motoGPness 3 жыл бұрын
@@steveh7108 The K1600B is literally a sport touring bike with a lowered subframe and some bags slapped on it. It’s not a bagger in the traditional floor board having, heavy weight, V-twin American sense of the category. If you want to pretend they’re the same category of bikes then lets slap some bags on an H2, call it a bagger and then dog the K1600 because it can’t hang.

1/4 mile would have shown which engine was producing more power in top gear/top speed. The trap speed at the end of the 1/4 mile would show which is more powerful at higher rpm. Also would indicate if HP really wins the game versus power/gears for quick take off. My vote would go to the bike with higher power at say 4000+ rpm. But, the 1/8 mile does show which bike is stronger for most of the typical riding those of us who never got on a dragstrip could achieve for quickness.

There are so many other factors that should be looked at to decide which is the best motorcycle for you. Comfort, long distance, controls, seat & seat height, hell any way you look at it they are both baggers not race bikes. Sure you can load up the extras to see how fast they will go down the track, but in the final analysis I think most riders are taking these machines out on the road for long trips and they may also want them to go faster than stock!

I have a Challenger and honestly those numbers are not impressive that is an expensive upgrade, I wouldn't even waste my time with it. I think the Harley would've done better with a stage 2 torque cams. Also who even cares about 1/8 mile unless there was even less of a difference in the 1/4 mile. Also why didn't you run both bikes head to head, that's a drag race. Disappointing video, I'd keep it stock honestly.

That interesting to hear from your perspective. I think you make a fair point. Upgrading your cam on a dual overhead cam motor is a pretty hefty charge versus the single cam camchest in the M8. I'm doing mine and it's 400$ for the install not including the tune.

To me the fact Indian is not union is actually a plus to me. Who wants to buy anything made by some protected bum. Not saying there are any, but changes are there’s at least a few! I’ve owned a few Harleys, but not big bikes, a couple Sportsters, a V-Rod and Street 750. One of the Sportsters was an XR 12000, that was a very nice bike, after I added the Fork Kit an ungraded rear shocks. But sorry to say my ridding daze are behind me with terrible back pain.
