I have a Marlin 1893 30-30 which looks exactly like your gun. It has a 20" octagonal barrel. It was a gift from a good friend. I still shoot it at the range regularly. Great old gun.

Beautiful rifle … I enjoyed seeing what one must do to remedy that issue. I only own one Marlin, a 1976 336c in 30-30. Would love to get an 1894 as I like the action with the bolt. Pretty iconic…

Man I learn something from every video you do. Did this leave any kind of shavings to clean out? Thank you Chad.

It made a very fine chip or shaving of steel. Not very much at all. I just cut a few thousands into the chamber.

I wonder if the short chamber was intentional.... What reason could even be plausible?
@osfoutdoors5109 Жыл бұрын
From what I understand the rounds were just a tiny bit shorter back in the day.

I just bought that gun. What years or serial numbers can use smokeless?
@osfoutdoors5109 Жыл бұрын
If yours is the 1894 and in good shape you should be fine to shoot smokeless rounds. I load a 180 gn bullet over 6.4 gn of tight group for target shooting

hi, to you !!! i would ask to you a simple question, why do you put by your hand a single cartridge every time you shot ... ?!?
@rangerup1804 Жыл бұрын
He didn't want to lose his brass by ejecting the empty case onto the ground, so he slowly ejected each piece of brass into his hand.
@tbcoachniblick1208 Жыл бұрын
I do that as well cause the cases are scarce and very thin walled where the bullet seats... easily bent..!!

I reload my own 38-40 cartridges with Starline Brass and Missouri Bullet Co cast coated bullets. The 38-40 is the only cartridge numbered backwards for whatever reason..?? It should be called a 40-38 because it was a 40 caliber bullet with a 38 grain blackpowder charge..!! But... in ALL REALITY, it is a 45 caliber casing necked down to a 40 caliber bottle neck opening, which be called a 45-40.....?!?!? 🤪Regardless it is a fun cartridge to load and shoot in my 92 Japanese Winchester...!!
