I met chamillionaire in chicago downtown when i was either 20 or 21. The most humble down to earth superstar ive ever met. Had a cubs hat on and asked if it would be okay if he sign it he did. I have that hat hanging up in a case in my man cave.

Cham was ahead of his time on those old swisha house tapes and spit straight 🔥🔥. And also before I seen how they looked I thought Paul Wall was the black guy and Chamillionaire was the white guy 😂😂
@Bran-Da-Don Жыл бұрын
Chamillionaire was a victim of the Houston wave ending. The consumers were enamored with Texas culture for about 3 years and as a result several artists from Texas were able to blow up (Cham, Mike Jones, Slim Thug, Paul Wall) Once they were no longer new and hip they moved on to Atlanta artists. That's the music business and it will cause someone like Cham to lose his passion for the game and want to try something different. The average consumer has the attention span of a child when it come to artists that they support. Your die hards will support you through and through but it won't equal to huge album sales. Once an artist has sold over 500,000 records they have exceeded their core audience and ventured into the wave chasers and riders who will buy it because everybody else is. These are the ones who are not loyal and will move on to the next thing quickly.

He hated his deal, and would not release anymore music. He made more doing gigs also. And auditing. He waited out the contract. Until he was dropped. He then featured and went to work in more profitable industries. Leaving his hardcore fans

Unless you’re from the north side of Houston - you really don’t understand how big the colour changing click were in the swisha house days. Personally after his major label move - he never was as good as when he was raw.

50 Cent threw him a lob by dissing him in an interview some time before Ultimate Victory released. Cham mentions it on a pod w/ Dame Dash that he ran across 50 and asked about the comments & 50 told him he should’ve taken the bait. Cham went from knowing “Controversy Sells” to being humble & protecting his image. It didn’t pay off in the mainstream but it did for his future endeavors.
