I actually like the small mess ups and when Chance chokes up on his words a little. It makes this performance more natural and adds to the song instead of messing it up. The imperfections make it more perfect in a way.

This dude went says; "I really need a break, could really use a nap My daughter barely recognize me when I lose the hat You go so far, you hit a point where you can't Uber back The other day, I told a hummingbird he too relaxed" When you accent your rhymes at the end of your line but none of the words should ever rhyme but he forces them to with his tone. These are rhyming on the A sound. So instead rhyming at the end of thr world which is common, the rhyme scheme is actually in the middle of the words.
@jaedonthompson221910 ай бұрын
its not "rhyming" per se, its called assonance if i remember right. he repeats the "a" in all the words at the end of each line, while traditionally you rhyme with the last syllable of a word.

How is being an independent artist losing credibility? If anything, he's gaining more respect from his peers, fans and paving a way for independent artists all over the world to gain autonomy in their professional endeavours and not to succumb to the manufactured music industry that claims that to be a successful artist you HAVE to be signed to a record label and handover your rights to them. He's challenging the status quo! I don't think you know how controlling the music industry can be. There are many bands n indie artists like chance who have been making good music all over the world, they might be lesser known but not being signed to a BIG label doesn't equate to being a talented musician. Music comes first dude, not the label. Without the artists on their rosters these labels wouldn't be relevant.

That s a phrase that is meant to show how everyone receives eternal life but still god looks at the heart and rewards accordingly. You dont have to be rich on earth to be first ln heaven you have to have sacrificed on earth for god's sake to be first in heaven. So is that a play on that phrase or am i missing the point?

Tomfoolist No offence but there’s no real correlation between the depth or meaning of his verses and his age. I know a lot of young brothers who can rhyme like this lyrically lol. However I do agree he seems older than he is, but that’s just because of appearance, subject matter, maturity, etc
@iamhexoronii7 жыл бұрын
Sam guy not really he probably was just rapping about stuff you could relate too but dude is growing up and not going though the same situations he did back then , so of course he's writing is gonna be different since he can't relate to that time as much anymore

This is what the Big Day could have been. I've been following Chano since 10 Day, and this shows hes the same amazing artist as when he was 16 and 18. He's capable of creating amazing art. It's so sad the debut album was so poor when this is what he is capable of
@carsonroach-howell69455 жыл бұрын
He went for the pop, mainstream sound and that's hugely disappointing but the album will still be really successful. Hopefully he tries something different for the next project 🤞

Always find my way back to this video, to hear this song ( especially since it’s the only place I can find it) and took me almost 3,4 viewings before I realized the performance goes through the night into sunrise and finally light as the day approaches and is finally there... beautiful

I was just at the Chance concert in Queens on the 26th and he performed this song.... and that was the first time I've been to church in a minute.... Nothing but blessings and success for little Chano from 79

Chance changing the image of modern Christianity in America to something much more positive, much less judgmental, much more peaceful and more accepting one step at a time. I'm thankful for someone that remains grounded and thankful like this among all the distractions today.

hanoncs dawg you don't know what a cult is. Religion has done a lot of good for people, you don't have to believe in it but stop trying to shit on others beliefs, they aren't messing with you. And I guarantee you Richard Dawkins or anyone else has proved how the universe was made either, the irony in your comment is cringey. I bet you've never even read into or studied religion, so just let people live their life my guy
@SP-qf6mn7 жыл бұрын
hanoncs Just because the Europeans abused something that was clearly meant for peace, doesn't mean the religion is bad. Their is a very big difference between the Catholic(pagan) and Christianity.

+Terron Rushing We still have plenty of pagan families and festivities as well as traditions here in the alpine regions of Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy and Austria. Has nothing to do with catholic nor evangelical christians. However both christians adopted quiet a few of our traditions and festivities but changed them. This was done to get the pagan families to have an easier time to convert to christianity. However many didn't and stayed that way, such as my family. In my region of southern bavaria we get many christian (especially conservative evangelics) american tourists who want to take part or just watch our traditions like Perchtenlauf and others. Example images of these pagan traditions and native european culture that are worth preserving: imgur.com/a/xkyh2 Which is a pre-christian pagan traditon during the Rauhnacht (21st-25th December) And that's just one example.

Surprisingly good track. Lyrically it felt real and introspective like something off Acid Rap, but musically it's still got that gospel feel to it like something of Coloring Book. Although knowing Chance, the live version will probably be waaaay different than the official release.

I kind of understand what you're talking about. As a Christian and Chance fan I feel like people don't truly realize his lyricism and amazing wordplay. He didn't use it as much as he could/should have on Coloring Book. There is a level or introspectiveness that wasn't present on Coloring Book. Hopefully he just SNAPS lyrically in upcoming songs.

@taraebrahimpour95837 жыл бұрын
Wait...is that really what RAP stands for?
@jfrazorofficial73557 жыл бұрын
Tara Ebrahimpour Yes and no. Rap used to be slang for having a meaningful conversation with some sort of political or social relevance back in the 60's. Since rap used to be more personable and not the multi-million dollar industry it is today, they would make spoken word to a beat of some sort to speak out of their struggles. So, yes and no. The name of rap was never an acronym for Rhythm and Poetry and the origin of it's name is a lot more simplistic, but rap is essentially poems set to a beat.
