Happy to see you excel as an instructor in such a short time! It's not all about hours!

Great job Chandler. Curious, how is the DPE situation there? What are ballpark waits to get a checkride. Ben

We have DPE weights just like everybody else, but in this video, I explain how you can manage the wait times so that they don’t slow you down. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5y8pqiAi82tptksi=iG2FYMUCXNfq7Y2f

"stupid question": why in single engine don't use V1 speed? V1 speed would must be achieve before timer out (started with start of takeoff) if not abort. (like engine failure in multiengine) V1 speed and time to achieve, will be calculated: lower value of: V1 = Vr - 5ktn, or V1= maximum speed that still allow to stop on runway. that would be check that aircraft performance is like expected/calculated. that we set proper power for takeoff V1 in single engine would inform where/until when, is safe to abort takeoff. I understand that require complex calculations, but in today world with smartphones and tablets that is not issue at all. just put to program aircraft weight&ballance, runway conditions, runway slope&length, weather, altitude, pressure, temperature, dewpoint, etc. and program will tell you all needed informations. like V1 speed, power settings, rollout length, Vr speed, trim setting, etc. And Yes that would need profile in program for each aircraft type. Time to V1 would be usefull in multiengine also. There was accidents because pilots in multiengine aircraft set wrong power setting, and runway ended before Vr. (preflight was done correctly with all calculations right)

I don’t have a great answer for you. Thanks so much for watching one of my videos! I really appreciate you taking a moment to comment!

I don’t think I want to be a cfi to build time as I don’t think the experience I would gain banging around the pattern in a 152, piper etc trainer airplane would be very beneficial. I would like to try and get a job with a foreign company that would let me fly a jet with relatively low time, something like Emirates. Have you thought about flying for a foreign company that allows flying jets at 250 hours?
@trent_dyrsmid6 ай бұрын
Sure I have thought about it, but I have not seriously considered it because I do not want to uproot my family and move to someplace else in the world.

that will need license conversion, (not a big deal), europe/EASA allow to fly airlines as a second officer, right after school. you must pass all ATPL requirements without flight-time (1500h). you will receive ATPL license after 1500h what allows to fly as a PIC in airliners. There is NOT clear benefit of 1500h requirement. Pilots with low hours trained in integrated courses with procedures used in airlines and working right after in multicrew environment, seems to perform better than pilots with lots of hour of "low quality flying" (like single engine day VFR) because: yes stick and rudder are better, but wrong/bad habits also accrues . CFI work is good because there is another level of knowledge/understanding, if you must teach someone else. But this is not for everyone. And forcing practically everybody who wats fly airlines to teaching, is bad idea in my opinion. And when how many hours as a teacher is highly benefitable? who knows?

@@trent_dyrsmid would you have to uproot the family? Many pilots fly out of base so your commute may be a bit longer but it could be done.
@trent_dyrsmid6 ай бұрын
That would be a significant commute. Plus, my FAA license would have to be converted.
