I just watched Michelle Wang’s review and she had the same issues. The shadows dried fast on her and the darker shades were a bit patchy…More specific the bronze brown shade was the most patchy.

I scraped the excess product off the wand and layered the liquid eyeshadow and then went over the edges with a powder to blend it in. The lighter shades of the liquid eyeshadows are much easier to use as a one and done but there's a pot shadow you'd love called New Moon that I highly suggest it if you want to try a good formulation from Chanel.

Don't use the liquid shadow on top of the pencil! That's what is causing the patching. You need to use just one. I would use the champagne shade on the inner eye and use tne pencil to deepen the outer v area and blend. Use the blush for the crease. Use only one or the other. Don't mix the liquid in with the pencil

I have some of these shadows from a previous lunch. I wonder if you have mixed them before apply because if you don't the pigment doesn't mix well and it doesn't work. Another trick is to blend them quickly with your fingers or brush if not afterwards it's very difficult....

I am deeper than you and just reviewed this. The blush is non existent on my skin tone. I also posted picks on my IG on deeper skin tone and it’s chalky and powder looking. I however am oily and the Stylo’s don’t move on my lids once they dry down. I use them exactly like you did. Sounds like the other one you have may be #4 which I have and love as well 🤗 I skipped on the Laques.

So those laques!!!! When the 5 came out last year I was interested and went to a local counter to try. The lighter colors were sold out so I tried dessert wind, a little deep. The sa was watching me apply and tried to tell me how. Whoa, messy, patchy and textured lids. Funny when I comment something along the lines of "oh, hell no", the SA didnt try to correct my application method or sell them to me....pretty telling! I think the light colors might bode better. I do love the Armani liquid ones but only have light colors.

Seeing you struggling while you are trying to make that liquid shadow works remind me of me with any liquid eyeshadow. I feel that that trend only shows the pressure the compagnies have to keep putting on the market new products. Apart from some liquid shiny toppers, powder eyeshadows are already perfect the way they are. Any stick or liquid usually ends up being too much work and less precision for me.

Michelle Wang had some problems with the liquid eye colors, especially the grey shade. She used the cream crayons as liner but didn’t really layer the cream product on top of the liquid. My experience with liquid shadows(NOT Chanel)is that they get flaky if over-layered and some just really are NOT GOOD.

I got the grey liquid shadow and I love it. I see people having issues with the bronze. I wonder if there is a formula difference🤷🏻‍♀️ I have to liquid shadows from the last release as well that I love. I use a cream eyeshadow brush to apply one eye at a time and then I blend a powder shadow in the same color family to the crease. Idk if that’s a helpful tip but it works really well for me:)

I bought one of the light shades of the liquid shadow when they came out at the beginning of last year, and I had the same experience you're having with the bronze colour 😪They're a difficult formula and it's not worth it... you have to get them perfect first time but they're so hard to apply evenly and blend it's impossible.

If you know anything about chanel they have sheer buildable pigmentation. You want pigment go to those companies that make super pigment shadows!

I respectfully disagree. I love Chanel for being sheer and sophisticated. I’m over 40 and I don’t need very pigmented shadows (which are quite frankly more tailored for the US market anyways). Bare in mind that luxury brands are supposed to be marketed towards 40+ and not for the younger generations.

Your perseverance speaks volumes about you - kudos for not giving up 👍 I only have lip products and eye liners by Chanel (absolutely fantastic) as I'm just getting into the the brand. I'm not overly impressed with this collection. That blush is so polarising it's unbelievable! I may be wrong, but it appears that Chanel isn't very inclusive at all, which doesn't sit well me. Just like HG they seem to market their products at light/medium skin tones. I'm very English and very white by ethnicity but that blush wouldn't even show on my skintone! I'm going to have to rethink my purchasing habits regarding Chanel. Most people who really love Chanel makeup aren’t actually all that good at applying makeup. It’s part of the appeal of luxury, that things are easy, so I doubt they’ll come for you. This isn’t a much loved formula. If you can’t make it work, there is a good chance it’s not that good or it’s meant to applied so incredibly sheer it’s questionable. Every now and then Chanel comes out with liquid or cream eyeshadow that feels more editorial and for their runway shows than it does for their average, kind of basic customer.

You do do not use fingers with the liquid shadows. A brush, with patting motions is best for color payoff. For sheer coverage use swiping motions. This formula is designed to be built up. These are amazing if you are a minimal makeup wearer. The problem I'm finding with many of these videos, is the person wants to apply all the products on the eye all at once. That is not the intention of the line or realistic for the average person. Take the time to appreciate the makeup and give yourself time to get to know how to work with the product.

As someone who is fair, the blush colour is pretty. But disappointing that people with deeper skin colour don't have an option :( I love that you kept trying with the liquid eyeshadows. Some youtubers just try once and are like "oh well they suck lol" and just continue the video with a bad eyelook. But you tried your best to make them look good (and it turned out okay!!) I kind of wish the old-school luxury brands would stop putting the flimsy brushes and applicators into their makeup. Kind of cheapense the experience, which is the opposite of what luxury makeup should be. If you want to include a brush, do it properly like Sigma does it with their eyeshadow palettes. 😊

The liquid eye shadow was the reason it didn't blend not the liner! The formula for the CHANEL liquid shadow dries way tooo quick and depending on the color can be patchy. GOOD effort ! Thanks for the video🌸
