I think the rugs are given some kind of pre treatment that causes the rugs to look that way.

I once took a trip to Turkey and visited a family home in the region of Cappadocia. I noticed that families use these beautiful Persian carpets over dirt floorings. Many homes cannot afford concrete flooring and live with dirt floors. Carpets are used and, of course, get too dirty with daily usage. However, their homes look beautifully decorated with all the carpet flooring... 👍

I miss the good old carpets...I bought one of those that you can wash in the machine (and while its easy to maintain,) I personally am annoyed that they are printed on top of a purely white carpet. After several washes, the print is slowly coming off and I am slowly being left with a white carpet...which as we all know, will get dirty super fast.
