Im retired US Army not special forces.nothing elite? Just an ordinary infantry soldier. I know this sounds like Monday morning quarterback but this is what i would have done if i was taken hostage with her. I would have waited within a couple weeks to wait til the guards were smaller. I would have waited for the perfect scenrio to strangle or steel my captors weapon and kill them all. Then use one of their phones to call for extaction. I know this sounds hypothetical or trying to be a modern day rambo but this plan would be on my mind. God Bless the heros seal team 6!

He lied to her and didn't tell her that there had been threats against their caravan. The only reason she went was when he threatened to report her to a supervisor if she didn't travel and do her job.

@@testovirone actually no that’s just so mischaracterized here. Paul thisten and Jessica parted ways due to his inability to take some responsibility for what happened. Jess had cancelled the trip repeatedly and he threatened to have her fired if she did not come down to southern Somalia where the risk of kidnap is higher. She later found out during her captivity from Paul himself that he had purposely not told her of a known kidnap threat to there ngo prior to the kidnap. So no she’s not just making it about herself- if her and Paul are no longer in contact she does not speak about or for him understandbily given what he’s also done
