Your deck is looking awesome. I have been watching your channel since you started, and I have to say that Greg and Katie have done a wonderful job with this entire homestead. The two of you have done wonders with the knowledge you had when you started and have become master builders along the way. Looking forward to your next video.

In future if pouring dirt around Sono tubes you can always put a bucket, lid or tub on top tube and just dump front end tractor bucket right on top the tube

Very well done Greg, Perfectly felling the tree, bringing it to the sawmill to make the posts.. This will add much more storage underneath and like you said adding the cladding along the outside will keep anything from getting under the deck... can't wait to see the next episode ❤

to be optimal you should probably vibrate the Sono tubes and add rebar or even form wire mesh into cylinder and place in tubes to prevent any cracking

If the deck is cantilevered it doesn't need so much footing, just enough to stabilise the post.

Burning that pine straw ---- OH NO!!!!!!! That's perfect bedding for your barn. Next spring, it would have become perfect compost for a garden, mixed with all the animal manures and soaking up all the nitrogen rich urine. All carbon is good carbon, particularly when you've used it as a giant diaper in a barn.

As much as you use that tractor for moving logs and lumber, it might be a good idea to invest in a solid bottom grapple bucket. This would give you the same functionality as the bucket you have now but also give you the ability to grab onto logs and lumber making moving the stuff around a bit safer and faster. The best part is they seem to be pretty affordable at around $1,500.

Katie, I always get a kick out of Juniper being right there wanting you to throw the ball. You guys have turned the corner on Fall now so I hope your deck cover arrives soon so you can get it down. Greg, the deck looks great, both of you have done a good job on it. I liked the common scene of Juniper following Greg on the tractor up the hill. That scene, along with the goats who often accompany you two, kind of epitomizes life on your homestead. Have a great week and be safe. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.

Splendid and informative video you too. Missed ya on Sunday. Was that a black bear and cub behind you when you were working on putting concrete in the Sono tubes? It felt like Fall around today, High 89 degrees with low tonight 70 degrees, LOL. Sent you a text message about forklifts. I can't believe my eyes that ya would be burning viable pallet wood. Pallet wood was my first wood source starting my woodworking adventure. I can't tell how much money I collected from pallet wood crafts.

I'd just cut the bracket and tapcon another in place, you should be able to get a bracket underneath the post. Anyways, Juniper had the other one doing tricks by tugging on that stick, funny stuff...lol 😂 I'm wondering Greg, why you haven't welded up some hooks yet or something to hang on the bucket to assist with the logs precariously hanging on...😅 Love ya'll ❤

Been watching your videos, just recently began viewing them. I've watched the one where you clean all your left over scrap wood. The one where you finish the barn, actually two of them. I've watched the deck build, I've watched the one where you install your tile and the fridge didn't fit and now I'm watching this one, and the one where you are placing trim on your deck. I want to commend you on what a hard worker u are Kattie. It's no wonder you're tired at times.. But in all these videos you are the only one cleaning up stuff and now he wants you to disappointed! Lol A little help from him might help you catch up on your rest. Lol 😊 I'm sure he works lol but you, you are magnificent. Keep it up and try not to get too depressed, I get like that too when I'm too tired. Its weird, I work so hard but I feel like I didn't do enough and feel like I let myself down. So I know how u feel.. Hang in there! You're one awesome woman. 👌and those eyes! ❤ lol😊

Everyone who thinks or feels God doesn't care, is indifferent and or mean etc …. Why is the world as it is, evil everywhere… where is God and His faithfulness… God does judge sin which is evil and if people don't stop sinning they will die for that disobedience, that sin. When God said if you take from that tree you will die He was saying if you disobey, you sin, I will punish that sin because God does punish it, sickness, demons and death. And if you keep sinning I will punish you to the point of death, is that punishment. Sickness is a consequence of sin and it is a judgement God makes upon the people for their sin. All sickness takes its toll on the body and will result in death unless you stop sinning and that brings a reward from God for the righteous decision to stop sinning that brought that illness. Throughout scripture God tells us these things. God does love and there is mercy in His punishment too. He chastises those He loves. His wrath doesn't mean He doesn't love, it doesn't mean there is no mercy, it means He puts His law first and He obeys it first. He punished sin and then punishes sin and so forth and if someone doesn't stop sinning or sins more then that judgment is death just as He said, sin is death. Scripture says we are all responsible for working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Seek scripture, learn who He is and what He said to obey and do it. if you obey Him you live in blessings just like Deuteronomy 28 says and it also says disobedience is curses, that's sickness, demons possibly and again to continue in sin results in death. God told all the details, and paid for us to get out of sin and how we should live and when people don't live righteous then the world looks like it did in the days of Noah, violence, drunkenness and such lovers of self, pleasure and all sin and life apart from God, life in disobedience to God. Why should He bless sin? He punishes it then punishes sin more if someone keeps sinning. Is it tough people die from that choice they make, their sin and lack of seeking God to obey what He said, yes it hurts. How do you think God feels, He loved the world so much He gave His only begotten son and Yeshua died in agony for us to be out of that sin, taking God's wrath upon Himself so how do I think He feels, grieved so grieved but I know from scripture He always obeys what His word says, He never changes and that includes every word He said. Now Yeshua took God's wrath upon Himself for our sin Isaiah 53. We get peace with God and can come before Him to be heard and we get to be cleansed from our iniquities, sin. Just like the lamb sacrifices in the old testament Jesus was that for us a peace offering and forgiveness offering. We get freedom from that sinful past, from that sin and we get our healings because His stripes healed us from the consequences of sin. He gave us a way out. A way to start again out of that wrath. How loving is that God gave us His son who took God's wrath for us out of love. How loving just how loving is our God who made a way for us to be out of that wrath? Wrath we deserved by our sin and continued sin. But God so loved the world He gave us Yeshua. Yeshua gave His life to rise to life for us to give us new life. A new creation to begin again a new life, having been born again. Having received forgiveness for sin and a pardon from God's wrath, that very wrath you talk about. But God gave us a way out of His wrath when Yeshua our lamb paid for our sin. Again how loving is that our way out of God's wrath. Our new life. Our second chance to live rightly before our Holy righteous God our being born again to live right because God planned for us to not all receive His wrath yet His son for everyone, one for everyone and a way out, pardoned and free to live life righteous whole healed delivered, how loving oh so very loving that is. All that is in scripture too. Seek and find, learn who He is and obey and see more of it. Mark 4:24 the more you obey God the more He reveals to you, it means that. Matthew 6:33 live it daily and understand who He is and just how loving He always is and honestly how loved you are will be seen felt and KNOWN too. 💕 May you come to understand Him all your days seeking and finding and growing in the knowledge of God in Yeshua's name 💕

Been watching a bunch of your episodes this evening. Lovely show. I can't believe you haven't welded 3 chain hooks onto the top of your tractor bucket yet. For everyday log hoisting and lifting and reverse towing/skidding stuff about the homestead there is little that can beat her. Good 15' chain with a hook at each end, find and mark your middle link with ribbon or the like and you have a balanced lifting rig if it's on the middle hook. Best of luck

It would not be difficult, nor expensive, to add weld-on style chain hooks to the top and bottom of both sides of the tractor bucket to secure logs. They would be out of the way for digging and would make carrying logs much safer and more secure.

Hi, I have only just started to watch your video's and I think that the two of you are doing a great job. I have a problem with Greg though when he is using the chainsaw, I have never used one myself but I think not wearing the correct safety gear is a big mistake. The way you use it you are only waiting for a accident to happen and If god forbid you hit your leg when you are off grid you could very easily die before you got to a hospital. I'm sorry that is just my opinion but good luck with all you two are doing.
