If you’re hanging something lightweight, you can use STEEL straight pins instead of nails [if you don’t use the steel ones, the pins can bend). That way the holes are tiny enough to be filled just by painting. P.S. keeps holes from ruining wallpaper.

I'm not sure about places like Walmart, Walgreen's, etc., but I have had odd-size photos printed on standard sizes of photo paper, which is often cheaper than "special-order" sizes. Basically, I begin by cropping/resizing my photo (say, to 8x8"). I use Photoshop, but I'm sure this can be done in other software. Then I resize just the "canvas" to whatever final photo size I need. So for instance, if I want an 8x8" photo, I add just blank space (the "canvas" is what it's called in Photoshop) at one end so the whole thing measures 8x10", as that's the next closest standard photo size. Then I just send that off to the printer's. The extra blank space will just be white when it's printed (unless you color it in your software, of course), & I can easily trim it off. I've done 4x4" photos on 4x6" paper, etc. I do mind the waste, but it's the easiest solution I've come up with. If you can keep the finished/cropped photo size close to the larger size (e.g. 8x8" to 8x10"), you don't waste much. I use Persnickety Prints, which is a small photo printing company based in Utah, and have never had any problem. As I said, I don't know if that would throw off the processor at other stores like Walmart, so take that as my disclaimer. I hope all that makes sense, anyway. :) Thank you for sharing this project, Norrine. This is actually the first I've ever seen this sort of "tile." Merry Christmas, Norreen! This is a neat idea. As light as they are, you could hang with using straight pins. They leave less of a hole in the wall. Push them in a downward angle.

Norrine👏👏👏 another cost effective option🤑. You’re just the bestest🥰. Suggestion- to hang most any size picture w/or without a frame: Use either sewing straight pins or needles. Momma taught us this as you can cut them to any length(if to long) AND it leaves a very small hole🤔. I use them every year to hang our Christmas stockings, garland around a mirror etc. Merry Christmas and God’s blessings in the New Year and season of life. 🎄🥂🎁⭐️✝️🙏🏻🥰❤️😀
