I heard the oil filter on the Q7 is under the intake manifold, which is a splendid place.

My sister recently bought a used Audi Q5. I wonder if her car's oil is as hard to change as this one. I can't believe a car would not have an oil dipstick. My sister's car seems nice, but I think I will keep driving my simple 2002 Lincoln Town Car.

Why is this more Complex then it needs to be Ohh. It’s designed by VW. Great vid, I know not to get a car like this. I will stick to vtech v6

I'm picturing a garrulous group of Audi engineers quaffing large glasses of whitbier as they conspire to devise the most unnecessarily complicated means of turning a 15 minute job into a major clustereff.

Good Videos, when jacking it up just jack with back and the front will be high enough to put your jack stand in.

Go to harbor freight and get yourself a set of ramps instead of using a jack. It makes your fluid changes much easier. I just changed the oil on an A6 3.2l a couple weeks ago and the hardest part was removing and replacing the belly pan which wasn't terrible.

Not that I needed another reason to never buy an Audi, but the hassle of changing its oil is enough to ensure my disgust.

Changing oil on German cars is actually easier than the likes of Honda/Toyota, with a suction pump. I have Mityvac 7201, it's so easy to change oil on my Audi Q5 (similar engine as yours). That's how Audi dealers do oil changes. Open the hood, suck the oil out from the dipstick, change filter cartridge, refill. I don't even need gloves and my hands are clean. When I tried on my Honda, it didn't work because the oil passage doesn't go straight to the bottom. The German cars are designed to be serviced that way.

My Subaru takes 4.2 Litres of engine oil. Probably because there is no room to fit a larger sump.

Your time is worth more than the cost of a dipstick so buy one

Dipstick is overrated. Just pour in exact amount of oil specified by the manufacturer, why the need for a dipstick? I bought a dipstick from my Audi Q5 for $25, now sitting in a drawer. Simply not needed.

Great video, by the way you can use a plastic ramp set to lift the car that might be faster.
