I only ever use non fold elastic, I hate it when the flimsy waistbands fold. I’m really excited to see your tips video.

Those pants are lovely-well worth the time to fix. Do you think that pattern style could be made shorter (midi-length) and work as a split-skirt? That might be something I try-easy style to wear when getting out of a car while looking like a skirt. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much! I'm so happy I changed out the elastic in the waistband. I wore them for Thanksgiving and got compliments (& maybe even a request for a custom-order pair for a friend). I think you could easily shorten them to a midi, and I may end up doing that for my own pair; I sometimes trip over them when wearing flats, they are kinda long. Yes, the elastic issue. I've graduated to at least 1" elastic with a wider waistband.
