Greetings from Ukraine! Great song selection and presentation :) Everyone hears these songs differently - and if they love them, they love them differently too. The way you hum them gives a very interesting perspective. To be able to convey part of your impressions in this way is very valuable and rare, thank you!

My personal favorites are sleep has his house, the seahorse rears its head to oblivion maldoror is dead, hourglass for Diana, time tryth truth, a song for Douglas after he's dead.

you mention michael cashmore several times in this video, and i always loved his contribution (one of my favorite albums is an introduction to suffering, which is largely cashmore, tibet, and christophe heeman...who i got to see at eyedrum in atlanta long ago). we actually had a couple of instrumental C93 tracks featuring cashmore in our wedding.

Nice! That's Ironic I perform at Eyedrum every month over the the past 5 month since my coworker told me it be a good fit for me

@@arcanefrequencies5157 when i was in daffodil, we never performed at eyedrum, but we got around...while we were around. some girl tried to kill herself on stage, so needless to say, we split up

@@arcanefrequencies5157 i'd say good times, but i was still trying to recover from far too much LSD, a divorce and homelessness, so i just moved on and did my own stuff.

more bands like them? there are none like current 93, but related bands...legendary pink dots, lemon kittens, shock-headed peters, zu 93, coil, sol invictus, l'orchestre noire, strawberry switchblade, sorrow, einsturzende neubauten...because of the birthday party...and nick cave was on thunder perfect mind and all the pretty little horses, annie anxiety (connections with punk...steve ignorant of crass was on a C93 album as steven intelligent), whitehouse, merzbow, tear garden, HNAS, der blutarsch, knifeladder, the moon lay hidden beneath a cloud, nurse with wound of course, pantaliemon is andrea degens, in gowan ring, six organs of admittance, bonnie prince billy, antony and the johnsons, baby dee to name a few

Have to agree with you, I'd probably just swap moonlight, you will say with dogs blood rising version of falling back in fields of rape
@arcanefrequencies51572 жыл бұрын
Falling Back In Fields of Rape technically is my favorite from C93 song since it was one of my first, but it feels like it's in its own domain of existence for me, it's like an early omega point for C93 ... but only my opinion.

Hi Tre, stumbled upon your Current 93 content and subscribed. It's very rare to see someone discussing this music in such depth, particularly as someone younger; I'm 33, and I'm guessing you're similar? I have just started a podcast @newmusickalchairs discussing post-punk music - just started, so no subs sadly. I'm looking to branch out and start collaborating and doing album discussions. Would you be interested in doing a top 5 C93 albums conversation?
@arcanefrequencies5157 Жыл бұрын
yeah, I'm down, I would love to have a discussion. Let me know the details for and we can get something set up.
