Marina is definitely not alone with that 'I don't feel British' mentally. A lot of Americans (including me) feel that way about the US as well for a lot of the same reasons that she mentioned in this video. It's hard to feel like your a part of a nation where you disagree with a lot of the ways things are done.
@kitsch_bitch5 жыл бұрын

@@kitsch_bitch I 100% agree, but at the same time it's feels good to feel proud to be a part of the country your living in and care about so much. So when you don't feel proud you often times feel frustrated that you don't feel good about the nation you feel like an outcast in a sea of poorly led citizens and the feeling sucks. Humans naturally gather together due to beliefs among other things, it's only normal. To want to belong (even just a tiny bit). Mammals in the wild usually congregate together under one or two leaders and fall into hierarchies so while nations are man-made the instinct to gather under a ruler that can protect you and the group are ancient (and not necessarily needed anymore). Marina says she talks about unity and the lack thereof a lot in this album one of those things she wants unified is definitely the countries she loves. Watching or realizing that your country falling apart is like watching your parents get divorced or living in a dysfunctional family.

I love when artists get real and expose their intentions like why they are writing music. I hope she stays the same because we need more ARTISTS LIKE HER!!

Marina is such an old soul and so empathic. I can relate. Nice to see that there are more of us that truly just want to see better in the world. Amazingly talented lady. Love the music and the person.

I believe that her and Joanna Newsom are truly saving lyricism in the 21st century (several others too, but these two stand out to me so strongly)

I was so ready to destroy this interviewer, considering the way he treated a few of his guests in the past, thank god he kept a professional approach this time.

Lemon Line he asked Robert Downey Jr. about his alcoholism he went through, it was quite personal and the interview was supposed to be about his movie, not his past.
