At least 31 feared dead after boat heading for UK sinks in English Channel

It is the worst known loss of life from the small boats coming across the Channel carrying people who mainly arrive to claim asylum.
The French authorities are saying it could be 31 dead.
With winter closing in, the numbers trying to cross have risen, with temperatures and conditions dangerous.
Boris Johnson said he was "shocked, appalled and deeply saddened".
UPDATE: It was earlier reported 31 people had died, but the total was revised by French authorities to 27 overnight into Thursday.

Why do these people want to come to the UK ? there are those who argue that they are fleeing persecution but they have already traveled through countries that can offer them a safe haven so the only reason they want to enter the UK is to take advantage of our benefit system and the free health service. A solution to this migrant invasion might be that a state of emergency needs to be declared which meant that all illegal migrants would be banned from claiming asylum here ever .This would include the backlog of asylum seekers here and all those in boats too being taken back to France immediately. France and the UK then need to establish an exclusion zone say 50 miles along the French coast. Any migrants caught in that zone could be deported initially to camps near the Italian border and thence to Italy and then on to north Africa. I came to UK 10 years ago just like them today I work as a taxi driver for a company who is in need for many more people and I been working over 7 years with Armed forces providing culture and language support in UK we also support local community and country hundreds of thousands people today in England are fit and healthy but can't go to work migrants work 6 days a week and support work places and also with NHS there for saving lives Most of them 31 people would work like I do today after few years if they were alive We pray to almighty God to give patient and happiness to those who lost family members
