Storm Daniel kills thousands in catastrophic Libya floods

Storm Daniel has devastated parts of Libya, as catastrophic flooding has killed thousands.

A city that was home to a hundred thousand people is now under water - entire neighbourhoods simply swept away.
The force of the flood waters in eastern Libya was so great, the surge burst through two dams around the city of Derna, obliterating everything in its path.
Local officials say they've been left stunned by the scale of destruction, beyond anything they can cope with alone.

It is a very sad situation and alot of kids and families who had nothing to do with it also became victim of this civil war and political turmoil. All the neglect caused by infighting practically stopped all maintenance and further development of infrastructure to prevent floods. These dams shouldn't have collapsed if there was proper oversight and upkeep

Tragic as this flooding is and condolences to the families of the victims, I hope this brings sense to the country after years of war and bloodshed since the fall of Gadaffi, an event that the West hoped would bring peace and freedom to the country, but of course it did not.
